I actually bought this game 3 times, which is a record for me

    Orginal
    iOS version (fantastic)
    Enemy Within (amazing)

I can only hope for a true sequel.

Just bought Enemy Within when it was on sale on Xbox Live last week or so. Didn't think I would have time to play it but bought it anyway and....
just a couple days after I bought the game I tore my knee up and had to have knee surgery(meniscus and Micro Fracture).

Loved Unknown so I'm going back to play around with it for awhile before I jump ahead to Within now that I'm laid up and have time on my hands......

I'm running through within on classic ironman now. Then I'll go to the long war mod.

anyone else still playing this? I had both unknown and enemy within on PS3. Recently picked this up off steam, both versions with all DLC for $10!!! Downloaded long war and I am addicted once again! so far 70 hours into it and haven't really gotten that far. Story takes a lot longer to unfold( hence the name long war).Love long war a lot more than the original game.

Classic Ironman is easily one of the best experiences in a video game I had in a long long time. About halfway in I got completely ambushed on one of the maps. Barely made it out with my elite sniper alive and 1 other soldier. Lost a lot of good team members that day. So disappointing, yet so rewarding at the same time. Escaping with 2 team members was a major accomplishment.

I find the sniper class to be the most valuable later in the game, had I lost the elite sniper no way I would have survived the Alien onslaught later.

Classic Ironman is just so good. Every single decision means so much. No other video game has captured that so well. You definitely have to prepare for some heartache when playing that. I was playing Enemy within at the time. I really liked the Exalt addition to that. They were just enough of a pain in the neck to really add a lot to the game.

Spot on. I got through and loved it.

I'll probably give the next level a crack, the long war mod and then onto xcom 2.

Just fired up the 360 again and got back in EU. I haven't touched my XBOX ONE in five days playing this and CH2k8. Easily one of the best games I've ever played

DL'd this game for free from XBL and I'm loving it so far.
I'm terrible at it as I keep losing my top soldiers, but I'm learning.

Any advice to give as far as building facilities, researching tech or which zones to launch satellites over?

I downloaded it as well. Looking forward to trying it out.

Base strategy kind of depends on what level you're playing. If you're above normal (and I wouldn't recommend that if you're new) you have to kind of balance out science and engineering because you need those upgrades quick, but on normal and below you're a little more survivable in the early going and can focus more on engineers, to get as many satelites in the air as possible.

You'll probably be launching your first few sats just to control panic levels (missions won't be enough), but once things have stabilized a bit Asia's a good one to go after for its funding and bonus (Foundry and OTC projects cost is halved)

As for science, work towards the full armor upgrade as soon it's feasible (NOT the nano-fiber vest, although you might get that on the way). Being able to take a couple extra hits is invaluable. Don't get too wrapped up in researching the "Priority" tech like the arc thrower right away - those are the ones that advance the plotline and there are certain storyline missions that you should definitely not try to tackle until your base is up and running.
