But on another note the ones I hate the most are the quickscopers. Nothing is worse than that.

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
These are the type of guys I don't too much care for. From what you are describing you aren't outsmarting guys you are wanting to hide behind something in the one way where everybody has to go and want to just shoot guys. To me that takes far less skill on the game than a guy who is out playing the field/maps and get his kills by being better with his guns.
There will be guys who like to sit in a room and claymore or bouncing betty the door and hide in the corner or just shoot out the window. Then they want to brag how nobody can kill them or their k/d is so high. Again to me that takes a lot less skill to do. Most of the time when you get these kind of guys on a map where they can't do this they get destroyed and either just get quiet or whine about their guns not working right.
It really gets boring when you play against a team full of guys that do this and they all pile up in two or three rooms and takes all the fun and randomness of the maps out of the game.

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
Exactly. Also, it's funny when people say they hate quickscopers when that is probably one of the toughest thing to do in this game. Sure, it sucks when you die, but I always can be ok after seeing a sweet quickscope kill came. Anyone who sits in a room with a non sniping gun is considered a loser in my book. I'll clear rooms but never sit in them. Only time I spend more than a bit in a room is if I have a sniper. The standard in Call of Duty has gone from having fun to trying the hardest to have a good KD. To some people, have a good KD is more important than having a girlfriend/life. To me, I used to like killing those people. It seems like COD wants to appeal to those players however, since they made the maps favoring them. This game is made for campers, plain and simple.

I am not a fan of the quick scopers at all because it is as far from realistic as you can get. The guys that try that should actually be the easiest to take out instead the ones that are very good at it can be down right hell to deal with. Eventhough i am a fan of sniping in this game I can't ever see myself trying to go the quick scoper route.Comment

I am primarily a Domination player. I like to play all out for the win. This usually means capping A and B or C and B, then spawn trapping the other team at their flag. I like to have a place to set up when I do this where they have a hard time shooting me, but I can easily shoot them. Then they keep respawning, running back to me to try to get a revenge kill, and I pick them off again. It does involve strategy, I find places with cover, post up and pick a few guys off, then after I get a few kills I move to another nearby piece of cover and kill them again.
I'm simply a patient player and if all goes well I am rewarded with high kills and low deaths, while still winning the game. And I am not a person that camps without playing the objective, I am more than willing to hop on the B flag is we need it, or go after a HQ if i'm playing headquarters. But if I have a good team, I'd rather play defensively and rack up high kills.
I know a lot of people look down on guys who play like I do, but honestly I don't care. I have fun when I am doing well and winning. And frankly I don't have good enough gun skill or reflexes to run and gun and consistently do well. Sure some games I can bust out an MSMC or PDW and run around like a mad man and do good, but not consistently. So I play to my strengths, which is strategically setting myself up in spots where I have an advantage over the other team.Comment

Campaign
SpoilerGoing crazy as Mendenez with a gun and a machete is awesome. I don't know how many guys I mowed down by the time it was over, but I had a blast doing it. I also like that they let you see his scenario from the other perspective the next mission. Very cool stuff.
Not sure how I feel about the mission where you have to command your troops and hold down locations. It felt like moving the guys around was kind of weird and when I did get them where I wanted the a.i. was pretty worthless. After I failed, I took the option of skipping that part and moving on. Hopefully there aren't a lot of parts like that, but it does seem to have potential.
Zombies
Never get Zombies much burn in the first Black Ops because it didn't really pull me in, but I had a lot of fun playing on TranZit with a buddy. I'll definitely check that out a bit more.Comment

I understand where you are coming from. I would love to run around like rambo and do well, I'm just not that good at running and gunning.

When playing objective games I'll also go in and secure the hardpoint, but it's only when I'm comfortable with the location, I'd much rather find a good vantage point or higher ground to shoot from. I've gone toe to toe with snipers from a distance on some levels and what I try to do is clear areas where snipers most often set up, so my team can freely navigate the map. I don't agree that what constitutes not camping is just run and gunning because if so than I'd rather camp than run around the map. Camping doesn't take much strategy it really doesn't, but effectively holding areas of importance does. Try holding one of the observation decks on hijacked for more than four kills, it takes skill, sound placement of protective explosives, etc.Comment

Few campers think they camp.

I think to many people worry about their K/D. Of course you want to always have more kills than deaths but for some people the fun gets taken out of the game because that's all they worry about.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
Hell, I don't know if I camp or not.
If I clear a room, I'll definitely take a second to look out the windows and see what's going on, especially considering the person I killed will likely spawn pretty close and come after me.
This debate is exactly why I like playing Hardpoint, headquarters, demolition, etc. It's capture and defending objective. I think the word camper is thrown around way too often. My definition of a camper is someone who lays prone in a doorway, not helping their team out, waiting for a random passerby to get a quick, cheap kill. With the way the guns work in this game, it's damn near impossible to check your corners on the way into some rooms and still have a legit shot at adjusting and shooting the guy laying in the corner behind a box.
If someone is sitting in a window and watching the road below them, that's their business and I don't consider that camping. It's up to me to be watching windows. They do take a risk by having their back to the door and with so many flanking routes in this game, it's not like they're invincible.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
Once again, people don't understand the term camp.
Finding a strategic spot in a hot zone is not camping.
Sitting in a random spot that makes zero sense whatsoever and waiting for someone to run by is camping.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
I don't thunk the maps are cramped myself. I would rather have them a little smaller to get more action. Does it really matter anyways? When you get a big map you only get heavy traffic in one or two areas anyways. I think the they are really nice, and have yet to play one that I "hate". Every CoD before this there was always one map at least that I hated. On MW3 there was one map I refused to play, I don't remember which one because I haven't played that game in months, but I hated it.
As far as camping goes, who cares? It's a way of playing the game. I camp on a couple of boards, like Yemen. There is one spot I sit there and it's right in the middle of the board and I get a ton of kills there. The best part is I have never seen anyone else there. There is only one way to get there and one way out so I don't have to look over my shoulder all the time.
So if you like to run n gun that's fine, there are games I do that. If you like to camp, that's fine, I'll do that too. If you like to quick scope, well good for you, again I don't care, I can't do it, but I love to snipe people, I just can't do it like that. I never get mad no matter how people play, I just get mad at myself when I am playing bad. For me I play because it is fun and if every one out there played the exact same way it would not be fun anymore.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
i dont care if its a strategic spot, unless its the objective like A or B or HQ, thats camping.you can walk around a nice little area, but not a room and not a pathway.maybe if theres a pathway go to where people are coming from, then to where they are going, but dont just get in there path, go look for them, its camping if your waiting for someone instead of looking for them.i'm not talking about going prone at a corner or door, just one narrow pathway with maybe a room to the side is camping.even if it isnt camping, its still annoying, go and look for people, my k/d is 1.08 now from running and gunning, so i'm not good at it but i'm having fun and its above 1,i tried not touching anything when i was younger and ended up pissing all over myself.Comment

That is just nonsense.
I am a run and gunner...and if you read the map in relation to your teammates, you can more or less guess where the opposing team is and therefore, it isn't camping. They are holding the action spot hot zone down.
If I get killed by a guy who is sitting in a high traffic hot spot, then that is on me and I need to attack it in a smarter manner. Sitting tight isn't camping.
But if I get killed by a scrub where there is no logical reason whatsoever to be in the spot other than he is a scared virgin, then that is camping and he is a no skill kid.
People whine in every room I am in about camping and it is ridiculous. I have been called a camper millions of times and I probably haven't stayed still in the same spot for more than 2 seconds. It is the go to excuse when people get owned...camping and lag.Comment

Re: Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2
I don't camp at all but who gives a **** if someone else does? Kill Cam shows you where they're camping from... I usually just go a different route and kill them after I respawn if someone else already hasn't.
Just because you don't play that way and aren't smart enough to stop running through that same spot getting killed, doesn't mean it's cheese for someone else to do it. If they can get there, so can youLast edited by DickDalewood; 11-22-2012, 08:53 PM.Comment
