I honestly think Sony should require first party Vita support... especially with games like these. I probably would have bought this as a Vita title. As a $60 PS3 title though? Probably not. Kart racing is better suited for handhelds IMO.

      Re: LittleBigPlanet Karting

Just watched the trailer. The LBP world just doesn't seem as fun for karting as the MNR world is. It would obviously be one thing if this was a part of the things for LBP 3 or something, but it's not... so I don't really know what to say about it, especially since it probably won't be on Vita.

Pre-order LBP Karting and get a SackButler character + executive golf Kart! We did 3 mo-cap sessions on my hair alone. http://t.co/8rdjgfUC

The easiest part of showing off LittleBigPlanet Karting is just getting to play it outside of United Front Games. We don’t make fun, fresh, addictive games just for ourselves. We make them for you, your friends, your brothers, your sisters, Little Timmy and even for Crazy Uncle Larry. So it’s incredibly important for us to get the game in the hands of real people — real gamers — like we did in Los Angeles last week.

Thanks to everyone who came from the four corners of globe to get hands-on time with LittleBigPlanet Karting. Merci, France! Gracias, Mexico and Spain! Spasibo, Russia! Cheers, Australia! No worries, Canada!

It was great to see smiles for every drift and every jump, every big air swing with the Grappling Hook and every on-the-spot slapfight. Our new Battle Mode was definitely a hit. “Garden Grip”, a race course that lovingly pays homage to the very first LBP level, opened everyone’s eyes to how beautiful Craftworld can be in full 3-D. And “Future Perfect,” a race course that captures the joy of flying, showed that the Imagisphere never stops expanding. We hope that everyone saw for themselves that LittleBigPlanet Karting promises to be a great new karting adventure.

The hardest part of taking part in events like these is not having enough time to talk about every single cool thing in LittleBigPlanet Karting. I think the fastest I’ve ever talked about the game’s entire feature set in one sitting is one hour and forty minutes. And I had to talk *fast*. There’s a lot of stuff for even the most seasoned LittleBigPlanet veterans to absorb.

So over the next while, my teammates and I are looking forward to revealing more of LittleBigPlanet Karting’s secrets and surprises. Stay tuned for answers to burning questions like:
            • Can I really make any karting adventure I can imagine? I have a pretty good imagination…
            • Can Crazy Uncle Larry play LittleBigPlanet Karting with me? He hasn’t played a video game since 1994…
            • I’ve always wanted to shoot my friends with heat-seeking cows that spew green gas. Can I put that in a race? Please? Pretty please?

A tiny bit more new gameplay/info but mostly the same video clips. My highlight is the talk about customizing weapons. That's pretty cool.

                Re: LittleBigPlanet Karting

I noticed that they made the tracks a lot more accessible to the casual crowd, compared to that of MNR. Personally, I both like and dislike that. I never once had a problem with the drifting or track designs in a game like MNR, and it stumped me how many people truly did. At the same time, I like that it will get a lot of people involved with this game. Camera work seems much better too, and looks like a fun kind of 3D game.

As long as the story mode holds up well, this should be a no-doubter of a buy. I will miss the MNR feel in general, but I love LBP much the same. Would have been nice for this to also be a Vita title.

Looks great. Hopefully, amidst all this great work, they eliminate those insane MNR load times.

In case the opportunity to participate in the LittleBigPlanet Beta on PS Vita wasn’t amazing enough, many of you will soon have the chance to participate in the LittleBigPlanet Karting Beta on PS3!
The goal of the Beta is to get feedback on the overall experience from Sackfolk who understand it like few others – you!

There will be a lot more information to follow, so keep an eye on the PlayStation.Blog for details on how to register. For now, though, dust off your driving gloves and prepare to experience the most competitive LittleBigPlanet yet!

I was in the ModNation Racers beta. They fixed a lot of things, yet left a lot of things alone as well. It seemed to all end up being by the intent of the designers, but playing that beta made me less excited about getting the retail version of the game, simply because I had already played it at that point.

                            I'll still sign up, though.

I have never played a beta for anything. Signed up for a few but never got accepted. It's fine line for me. If I have no interest in the game, obviously I won't want in the beta. If I know I'm going to get the game then there's no point for me in the beta because it kills the full experience like you said Blzer. At the same time I have to be interested/excited about the game in order to want to be in the beta.

I'm on the fence about LBPK and I still play MNR (one of the few). I'm signing up to see if I'll be buyer in the end.

Yeah, that's kind of where I'm at as well. As I said in an earlier post, this game seems a bit too inviting for other people to be able to succeed in if you take out the weaponry. I don't feel like a whole lot of "racing" skill is involved with LBPK based on the videos, even though the track ideas seem limitless.

That being said, I wouldn't mind trying out the beta, as well as trying to create some tracks. Since this isn't on the Vita, I'm not completely sold that I will buy this game, but we'll see.
