    Re: Assassin's Creed III

Going to be dumping Madden and picking this up. I was hesitant, due to the past fighting mechanics (already mentioned here) but that article that was posted sold me on this title.

I absolutely loved the combat in the Batman games, and it seemed Sleeping Dogs continued the formula,so it was great news to hear that ACIII is going to adapt this style as well.

Hopefully we get some nice reviews from those that got it early,as I am excited to hear more about the combat, and the openness of the world.
People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.

      Re: Assassin's Creed III

Just finished what I guess was somewhat of an hour long tutorial where I did
      Spoiler
Looks like I've made it to the "New World"

The first hour was a helluva ride. Yes it feels like AC but a tweaked new and improved AC. The game feel extremely fresh and I thinks its because of the setting in which the game has taken place. Hyped to see what will happen next.

This game is gonna score very high with the reviews I tell ya

Is the combat more "Batmanesque and Sleeping Dogs"?

Didn't play Sleeping Dog. Only have had 1 fight and it was more of a tutorial so its to early to tell.

Just so nothing is ruined for me I will be staying away until after I play the game. Will pick it up Tuesday after work then give it a go. Not scheduled to work Thursday through Sunday next week so I should get lots of quality time right off the bat.

                  Re: Assassin's Creed III

Some gameplay footage....no story missions. The combat looks to be the same (each person waits their turn) which is actually a pretty big disappointment for me. I may just wait for a price drop on this one now.

The very first fight, maybe 10 seconds into the first video shows him being attacked by more than one person at a time.

Combat looks very clearly improved, as do the graphics and animations.

Personally I think the combat is bad azssss. It does remind me of the Batman series. Love when I counter and slash/stab a mofo to death

                        Re: Assassin's Creed III

Sorry to go off-topic, but people seem to overlook that in both Batman games on the Normal setting, enemies took turns attacking also. They all made a circle around you and you could do directional attacks, so maybe it felt like they were all coming at you at once.

On topic, the fighting doesn't bother me at all. It's not cheesy anymore because they took the block button out. Sure you stand in the middle and they take turns, but it's really not that big of a deal. You still have to time the counter right, as was visible in the first video. You still have guys that you can't counter and have to move around.

This game is going to be great, and Tuesday can't come fast enough.

A question from someone who never played any of these games: Is the main character supposed to be super-human or something like that?
                                My Specs:

                                ZX Spectrum
