    Re: Assassin's Creed III

When are these guys going to quit bull****ting around and provide a DLC ninja costume or just make an assassins creed in feudal japan? This engine is perfect for a new Tenchu or some new ninja franchise. I can't be the only one who notices this.

Ok thanks. So I guess this game doesn't really go for realism of any sort.

And by the way, when you use a body to defend you from being shot, that looks so pre-determined, it's like it's almost automatic, so the shot would never hit you (though, anyway, it doesn't really cause any damage, or so it seems).

I wish this game had some realism, I would definitely try it.

The whole series revolves very closely around historical events but also has some fantasy back story such as The First Civilization that make up the AC franchise. I still think it's pretty darn realistic.

As far as realism, no body is shooting lasers out of their eyes or anything. Not sure what you're looking or.

The developers didn't want to do a ninja ancestor because they felt it was too obvious.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I meant, the whole fighting thing. When the soldiers finally shoot you it does nothing, yet - you shoot one bullet and the other guy dies. Also, they keep fighting you - instead of just shooting you when they're all around you. But I guess it does makes sense, since you don't die anyway.

This is probably not the game for me, didn't mean to criticize it or anything, I'm sure this series has lots of fans and you guys enjoy it. Don't mind me, I guess I was expecting something else.

A lot of games are like that, though. AC is a historical action adventure series. It can be flamboyant and approach fantasy, but no more than most games.

I have to agree about the guns, he takes full volleys from half a dozen troops at close range and it barely even grazes him (I think the one I'm thinking of took him to half health). Hopefully it was just that the difficulty was turned all the way down. Now that we are using relatively modern guns, damage from them should be appropriately worse. At about 2:30 of that first video CowherPower posted, he's grabbed from behind and shot it barely nicked his life bar, then four guys shot at his at the same time and was only down to half health. They should have brought more thought to the gunplay in general, you can't use someone as a human shield against a .72 caliber musket ball, and you sure as **** wouldn't hold a guy and let someone else shoot him.

How they handled guns being brought into the series was one of my biggest worries with AC3.

I don't watch 1st impression/pre release vids as I like to experience things myself first but it's not sounding good.

I'm still on the fence about this game. Probably a post Black Friday buy for me.

I've played all the others and from what I see it looks great but same game mechanic different scenery. I'll wait till it goes to $15.

I'm not too worried about the guns being the way they are, I can live with that, and I'm completely fine with the mechanics being mostly the same, if it aint broke and all. My biggest concerns remain the story and pacing, which I thought was mediocre and atrocious, respectively, in Revelations.

I've spent more time exploring the land and hunting than I have doing the actual missions themselves. Had an "Oh ****" moment when I heard a Cougar come after me mainly because I wasn't expecting it at that time but it was pretty cool. And if you're someone who loved RDR, then you'll love this part of the game.

I remember someone saying something about the Combat being the same and that only one person will attack while the others wait their turn and so far I haven't had that issue. It's been kinda mixed as in some cases it's just one guy fighting, some cases it's been two at the same time and even had one where 3 people attacked me at once.

I'm in the same boat as you. I am 4.5 hours into the SP and I'm only in Boston. Not even really doing the story, just roaming around the city and in my West Coast voice "Jackin Fools" then running from 5/0
