Re: Assassin's Creed III
I just traded in MoW:W for this (got a good deal on it actually) and I'm loving the game so far. I understand there are a lot of disappointed people, and maybe I'm just not far enough in, but I really like it.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

I'm not sure what the disappointed people were expecting but I think it's a ton better then the previous AC.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Assassin's Creed III
The engine wasn't what was wrong with Revelations, and in that aspect IMO this game is a step down in a lot of ways. It introduced a ton of glitches and introduced some annoying quirks.
What has let this series down is storytelling, and you can't fix that with an engine change. This game did slightly better than Revelations, but it's still woefully behind Brotherhood/AC2.Comment

Re: Assassin's Creed III
I think the only glaring weakness with the game is the story of Connor. He really has no depth at all and doesn't evolve in the game. In AC 2, you get to see the change in Ezio from reluctant Assassin who just wants revenge to a guy who fully embraces the Creed. We see his mistakes and shortcomings and grow with him.
I loved the game, but I came away with no attachment to Connor, like I did with Ezio in II and Brotherhood. Part of the reason is that the story is short compared to II or even Brotherhood, so there is no time for exploriation into the character. What are Connor's true shortcomings, what are his fears and what are his motivations beyond saving his people?
The game has so much else to do, that it doesn't bother me, but it is a glaring weakness with AC III."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush

I think the new engine is a success. It added more to the game (hunting, dual wielding, better combat flow, naval combat) then it broke. My game was nearly bug free but I understand that's not the case for some, I can only speak on my experience.
The story, while not on the level of Brotherhood, was still entertaining. Connor was dry and emotionless though, that's for sure. The Revelations bar is really low but I think this game far surpasses that.
While it's not the best game in the franchise story wise the new engine provides more means of entertainment outside the main missions.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

... no tank missions and no flying machine. I get it, AC3 is no Brotherhood but it's not a bad game like some are making it out to be.
They should have fleshed out Benjamin Franklin more and evolved crafting into something important that mattered to the game.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

I though Benjamin Franklin would have a bigger impact in the game.Comment

It's a slightly above average game. It's definitely not good. But that's my opinion.Comment
