I'm scared that this is going to turn into a SimSocieties or Facebookish type game where you are forced to "work together" to create a better city. They dumb down the actual gameplay and make it rubbish. I'm hoping for the best though.

During the E3 presentation, it was stated that you could work on an entire region on your own. Thus I believe the option exists to coordinate with others in a region, but you can still do it all as a single player experience if you choose.

I read on Kotaku that you'll no longer be able to save your city, unleash crazy disasters, and then reload (because of the "Always Online" mentality...)

That blows IMO. While I enjoy the Sim City game itself, part of the fun was seeing the destruction a tornado or Godzilla would do to the cities.

Wow if that is true.. That sucks. I'll still own day one as I'm sure there will be some sort of work around. However it does get tiring when you have to find workarounds to get the freedom weve always had.

This game looks like the tits. I wish I had a high end PC and the patience to be able to play such a robust game.

That's why GT5 scared me away from continuing playing it... it's just too big sometimes that you don't know where to go with it!

Wow that looks really good, I've found myself playing a lot of Sim city 4 so I can't wait to play the new version. It's always been one of my favorite game franchises

I signed up too, but no guarantees since it's a closed beta. Hopefully having an Origin account helps.

Also beta sign ups opened months ago, so I'm sure it's a long list.

I remember drawing up plans for the original SimCity during classes when I was in middle school haha.
SC 4 was nice and all but just wasn't that much fun for me personally. I loved loved loved SC3K!
The promo videos look great, but always online requirement scares me enough to wait after release day for some reviews.

SC4 is awesome but it was a performance hog, when you have a 1000+ buildings mods like I do, it can make a good PC struggle to run a 10 year old game.

I am hoping this Sim City is good but I am not so sure, the cities are not very big(medium sized city in SC4). Hopefully Sim City does well so we get a expansion pack, that is where SC4 really improved.
