    Oh, it is...it is.

While we most definitely do want to make these songs available for the people that want them, this should most definitely be seen as a slow down of DLC. The first line in the announcement references a slow down in the DLC production pipeline, so while I totally understand that people want to stay positive, we should all be realistic about the state of things at this point.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation®3 system (January 29th, 2013):

      • Aerosmith – “Walk This Way”

      • Aerosmith – “Sweet Emotion” X

      • Aerosmith – “Back in the Saddle”

      • Aerosmith – “Dream On (Live)” X O

      • Aerosmith – “Legendary Child”

      • Aerosmith – “Lover Alot”

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system January 30th)
I'm pretty excited, Aerosmith is my favorite band.

I think the live version of Dream On is from Rockin' the Joint.

HMX is unsure - all the info they have is that it's "from the vault". They apparently have a 2007 date on that, and while Rockin' the Joint came out in 2005, it sounds awfully similar to the version in Rock Band's preview video.

Ehh... it's a good get, but I am not a big fan. I'll get the four classics I suppose.

Not very keyboard friendly. I'd rather have one of the songs RS is getting instead of all of these TBH (Steppenwolf- Born to Be Wild), so a good try but they were bested again.

Rocksmith also got Last Nite by The Strokes which RB can't seem to manage to obtain for some reason.

It's over. Last DLC coming in April.

I'm surprised it survived as long as it did. I honestly can't remember the last time I played RB.

All good things must come to an end.

That said, the DLC pipeline has been running on fumes lately (with a few notable exceptions). I haven't played Rock Band in a while, either.

I honestly wonder if this style of music game, requiring all sorts of extra peripherals and whatnot, has any momentum for next-gen. I think for Rock Band to work on next-gen, a few things must happen:

              - it must not require extra hardware; the high cost of entry was as much of a hinderance to the game as anything else
              - it must work with mass-owned motion tracking hardware such as the Kinect (particularly if the Kinect is bundled with the next XBOX)
              - some sort of fundamental change to gameplay must be made to freshen the series and genre up; I'm not sure what, though
              - some sort of concession ought to be made to those who purchased tons of DLC for the Rock Band series, lest they be burned for buying "Teenagers" DLC three times (Guitar Hero II, Rock Band, next-gen)

It's been a great ride. I bought so many songs it's ridiculous. I last played about 2 weeks ago. I hope there is another Rock Band in the future, but it will have to continue with all the DLC and Rock Band discs songs I already have.

While I haven't played the genre in over two years (still have the peripherals in my closet), I have to applaud the continued support. Great job, Harmonix!

GH burned out so I guess this is RB fading away.
I don't like what they've left us with. I can't play this game because I don't have an online connection with my 360 and RB 3 is really bad as a game. Hopefully "continuing to support" means they can patch some of the RB 3 travshamockery. RBN will still be active at least.

I can't believe it's over. I have almost 1,000 songs all told and although I haven't played in over a year it is still sad to see this thing come to an end. Talk about a gaming genre that went from the peak of Mount Everest to Death Valley in a matter of just a few years.

i haven't played RB3 since LAST winter at the skihouse. wife is preggers so no skihouse this year. have played Blitz a few times here and there, usually after picking up a new song. i'm much more selective now, but there have been a few tracks released in the past few months that i have been waiting for since RB1.

just moved into a new house though - i might just dust off and setup the drums for old-times' sake soon. and because i can crank the volume as loud as i want now

hahaha. that 0.01% is the best. that would be an awesome way to go out. they did mention there are still a few "new" bands in the pipeline.

See, if they hadn't already released all the best troll songs, I would say the last song could be Free Bird or Never Gonna Give You Up.

I would probably come back to the game immediately if anything Led Zeppelin was announced.

Pretty much zero chance that anything Led Zeppelin will ever appear in a rhythm game.

I think the final track will undoubtedly be the Doors.
