IMHO I prefer RDR. It was so immersive and I enjoyed taking a break from the main story to do side quests. I enjoy camping and hiking in the southwest so that biases my opinion but I always loved how RDR captured the atmosphere and landscape of the region. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed the Uncharted series but I played them once and that was it. Even today I fire up RDR from time to time.

I loved both games. You can't go wrong with either one but I'd give a slight nod to RDR.

Of course if you do listen to goh you won't have to deal with stuff like this...

...but of course stuff like that is clearly worthy of game of the year awards instead.Originally posted by slickdtcI'd ride his bus, that's all I'm saying.

Re: RDR or Uncharted
I loved Uncharted 1 and 2 (haven't played 3 yet), but neither hold a candle to RDR.
UC is a great story, great graphics and kinda fun...but the repetitive-nature of the game (clear this area, move ten feet, clear this area, etc.) is worse than the CODs and the fact it takes four-million bullets to kill one guy (I don't care what difficulty you're on or what shooter-series you're playing, a headshot should equal death. Three should really, really kill the dude) is really annoying.
Go with RDR. One of the best games of this generation.Comment

Re: RDR or Uncharted
I say that if you own a PS3, you can't go through its life-cycle without having played Uncharted (all three of them).
Also, since RDR exists, I think it's worth owning for anybody who has a soul.
My take? Pick up/borrow the Uncharted series from somebody who you will owe very little to, give them their respective story play-throughs, and return them after enduring an incredible trifecta experience. In the meantime, buy RDR, and take that in and out of your console at least until you beat it. It took me about 55 hours to get 100% in that game. It's that good.
I don't recommend either game for online play because they are just so good offline, but they are both very strong online as well. I just don't play them online as much as I would other games.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: RDR or Uncharted
IMO video games at their best are an interactive storytelling medium, and while both games do attempt to tell a story, Uncharted does a better job of keeping the narrative moving and presenting a tighter, more cohesive, cinematic experience. Like a lot of open-world titles, Red Dead's story can get lost in all the distractions the game presents. And even if you don't get distracted, the little story vignettes can feel fragmented.
Uncharted all the way for me, but take nothing away from Red Dead. It's still a great game. You really can't go wrong either way.Comment

Re: RDR or Uncharted
I didn't bother completing either one. I liked the story in Uncharted, but I thought the gameplay was kinda wack. I wasn't really into shooting animals or riding horses either, so I didn't give RDR very much time it all. It bored me from the start and that was enough to turn me off from playing anymore.Comment

Re: RDR or Uncharted
RDR was so much fun. The story is really great, one of the better stories I've played in a game(mind you I mostly only play sports and fps games). Also just roaming around, looking for treasure, hunting animals, bounty hunting, finding rare horses, helping strangers, it's all a blast
Multiplayer is great too. I used to spend hours online with my friends hunting cougars and bears. One time like 5 of us took down a bear by gang punching it lol. If you have like 2 or 3 friends online then you can have a blast with it. However not quite as fun as free roaming on gta IV online, mainly because there are no cars, only horses, but still it's pretty dang fun.
Plus there is the DLC which has an entire new story line to it about zombies. Looks fun, but I never did end up buying it.
As far as Uncharted goes, It looks like a really fun game. I don't have a ps3 though. I've watched a lot of videos on Uncharted 3 and it looks like a lot of fun, however based on what I see and what others say, it looks as though once you beat the story you might as well trade it in(unless you like re-playing story modes, which I'm not into).
Overall I recommend RDR to anybody looking for a game to have hours upon hours of fun with. But I really can't say if it's better than Uncharted or not since I haven't played it.Comment
