Have a feeling this turns out to be like Alpha Protocol. Nice little game, had promise, just nowhere near a $60 game. Want to be wrong as I had high hopes when announced. Current generation trailer and push backs worries me, though.

Good. My point was that it didn't look very next-gen at all. It just looked like a current-gen game (or, PS3/360 that is). I would have been disappointed if I popped in my PS4 and the game looked and ran like that.

Yes I don't think that was a Next Gen trailer. Either way I have been highly anticipating this game along with The Show for PS4 so they both will be Day 1 buys, I just hope they don't release the same day.

I'm hesitant. Don't buy games at release anyways, but definitely want to read reviews first. Could be amazing or it could be a game where we read a long Kotaku article later on about how dev went off the rails and a good game turned mediocre.

I don't think it will be that unpolished. I'm hoping/guessing it will be about as rough as the first AC if not less so. It just sounds like they ran out of time before they could properly test it and made revisions as needed.

Have you guys read the article on why it was delayed.

To me it sounds like it would have been a boring unpolished mess if it came out months ago. They spent the time making the game fun.

And I think if it's true, the things that worried me regarding repetition were rectified.

i remember the chick giving him the phone and saying
"you want in the network, you can do it through this phone"
"now she says, you want revenge, now you can do it through this phone"

I think they said they spent some time double checking consistency and flow (maybe making related additions/changes?), but I don't believe the core story has actually changed.

I'm curious, do you remember where you saw it was different? I was looking through some of the earlier footage recently and there is one with her where she says something like "be careful of it's power" or whatever, but that could easily line up with the current trailer as part of larger context.

I'll see how I feel about this in May. Right now all momentum I had for this game is gone. Hopefully they can build things back up where I'm more interested.

I dont remember but im sure its probably in this thread too but that "exact" scene is where she made the different comment before when handing him the phone. I remember them getting there after he was chased into a tunnel by the cops and he pulled into that side area as they drove right by without seeing him, then that part came right in.

That doesn't mean they changed the story. Maybe they just had different takes of the audio or maybe they spliced and edited some audio differently for the sake of one of the two trailers. After all, they do it all of the time for movies.

I'm just saying I doubt they changed the entire story in every aspect from one thing to another. As in, instead of just being a vigilante now it's some big revenge story. Whatever it was it probably always was, that's all.
