Maybe I just don't pay much attention, but framerates never mean much to me.

Re: Watch Dogs
Is it bad that the first thing I thought of when I heard this would run at 30 FPS is how upset Blzer would be?
I honestly am a little suprised, but something like this won't bother me in the least. I planned on picking this up shortly after release anyways, and this doesn't change my plans.Comment

Re: Watch Dogs
I'm fine with 30 FPS. Look at Killzone Shadow Fall. 30FPS in the single player and 60FPS during multiplayer.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Re: Watch Dogs
I'm speaking more in terms of what I'm expecting out of next-gen, or better yet why I feel I can wait. If they're still not doing 60 FPS, I'm not really feeling what makes this next-generation so much more advanced on all visual aspects.
Obviously I'm okay with framerate being lower when it simply can't be higher, like Grand Theft Auto V.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I could see them actually doing that rather than developing two different games at the same time though sadly.badComment

Re: Watch Dogs
I know some people don't care, but to me that kind of bites. I'm not sure if it's more because this game doesn't feature it, or because as a PS4 game it's not featuring it. As I heard before, their aim was to go for 60 FPS on all/most titles (don't know if that meant only for first-party games), but I really hoped that next-gen wouldn't just be a textural/lighting upgrade. I definitely expect less aliasing, but I was also really hoping for a framerate jump to 60 FPS for most games.
Makes me think I can hold back a little bit until they start making that happen, because I really think it will. This also lowers Watch Dogs a bit on my "must have" list as well, sad as it seems.
My other expectation was much more players online in shooters especially - but even that looking at BF4 is much less than I expected.
The generation improvement is looking much less than I expected, but I didn't plan to buy at launch (for the first time in my life) anyway.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Watch Dogs
I'm not surprised at all. We're coming off the generation that ushered in the HD-era of gaming with a lot titles featuring sub-HD resolutions and frame rates at a cinematic 24fps.
It was one indie dev that said Sony was pushing for 1080p/60fps, but I never expected that to be the standard. Going by this generation, I just don't think most devs are willing to make the necessary tradeoffs, especially at launch. Most games are 1080p though, at least on PS4. Also, there's a lot of cross-gen titles for these new consoles that I think isn't helping matters. Having to split teams/studios/outsource for 5 or more platforms with two being new hardware with a constant moving target and ever evolving SDK, is no easy task.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Watch Dogs
Depends on the game. Watch Dogs doesn't need 30 FPS to look like a great game. But, fast paced games like racing games or character action games look much, much better running at 60 FPS.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
