    2. not sure, might just be a thread myth as far as I've seen edit: ah, I see it's now confirmed above to not be in. Wouldn't be surprised if it's not added, could make it easier to game the notoriety system.

Yeah, soundtrack is easily the weakest and seemingly most tacked-on element of this game. People decry the GTA comparisons but that's because they did some things so well that we expect games even remotely similar to at least be in the ballpark from a quality-standpoint, and this is nowhere near that.

What is the point of hacking then? I don't really wanna mess around with it and I wish I could turn it off without the penalty of all of notoriety and skills resetting. What happens when someone hacks you?

I figured they took some of your money.
The only point to hacking is notoriety points, which give you some extra skills (most of which are only useful during hack attempts) when you get enough of them. You earn them with successful (or partially successful) hacks, and lose them with failures.

And notoriety points are different from the skill points you earn by doing missions and such - skill points won't reset if you turn invasions off. At least I don't think they do - wouldn't make much sense to lose your single player progress by turning off an online feature.

        Re: Watch Dogs

I really like tailing people, and wish there was somewhere that I could see how long people have tailed me. That would be creepy but would reinforce vigilance.

Whenever I'm doing stuff if I hear pedestrians I'm not interacting with interact with something else I find myself checking it out.

I had a guy once on one of my first tailing missions raise a bridge he was running over, as I drove at him with a car. I ended up doing a u-turn right in front of him (almost hit him) and didn't get profiled, I guess because the bridge was going up the erratic driving of an AI didn't look so bad. I then turned up the street and tried to keep my distance. He didn't notice a number of other u-turns I did to try and keep up as he went back and forth doing things.

Another tailing mission I was following a guy who was obviously trying to get at one of the towers. The problem with that is they are isolated on top of buildings so I ended up having to get in the lift and raising it up because my timer was about to run out. This naturally led to me being shot in the face

I can shoot bad guys (guards and the like) without penalties? Obviously I want to do all stealth if I can, but if I use a silenced gun that could be kinda fun as well....

Thanks for the response, I appreciate the help. Sounds good, I'll have to check this out further if I play tonight.

Yes, but civilians will call the cops and report gunfire/shooting I think.

Unrelated, how's crafting? I've done zero since that initial mission.

Man, this game is awesome so far. Played 2 hours last night, and found it pretty fresh. Nothing like it. I'm actually glad I read very little or paid much attention to it until now. I find myself learning everything about this game rather than knowing what the heck is going on by reading reviews, etc.

I wanted to like the music, I avoided commenting on it yesterday in my impressions.

                    But yeah.

The music is next level bad. There are probably three songs I can put up with, the rest are awful.

I turned "auto play radio" in settings to off. That leaves it off, but you still get news interview type cut-ins while driving....I'd usually turn the radio off on GTA too because I like to pay attention to the surroundings anyways, so didn't bug me to turn it off.

Would have been great to somehow cloud your music into the game.

Also, Chicago has some good artists, I'm surprised they didn't try to do more with their influence.

You can't do it via the console itself, but you can do it through the app. Earlier today I was watching every move Candyman and Flightwhite was making through my phone.

Candyman was in a mission and Flightwhite had his hack at anytime setting turned off. But it would be cool to be able to do that via the console itself.

Crafting is awesome. For a while I forgot you had the ability to do it. But once you level up a good amount, you can craft some awesome stuff.

I'm not sure how I feel about online hacking needing to be more risk/reward. I think the notoriety points/skills system is decent enough.

I can get hacked and not feel like I just got trolled. If I kept getting my money taken I might eventually get jaded and feel like turning the feature off. I dunno though. I can see both sides of that debate. Maybe in sequels they can allow you to choose different options for your "Online Hacking Difficulty" or something. Guys can choose to risk money or something like that, maybe even skill points, but the hacking gets progressively harder as you go up, or something like that. Who knows.
