Re: Counterstrike Go
How does the game look and run on the PS3? Is it smooth or choppy? Are their bots & if so how are they? Thinking about picking it up sometime. Thanks."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: Counterstrike Go
Bots...seem ok, but you probably won't want to play against normal or below. One of the normal ones failed to kill me while I was defusing the bomb (with a defuse kit, but still...), after he was sitting in the bombsite in ambush. He hit me a few times but not enough to kill. I'm fairly certain that won't happen against higher levels. They'll play to the objective like they should though - I'm in spec watching one of them camp a downed bomb at the moment.
Bots fill the teams if there aren't enough players, at least on the PS3. So the classic game seems like it'll always be 5v5 no matter how many people are in a game. When someone joins they take the bot's place. In addition, a player that got killed can take over control of a bot on their team, though I don't think they get the reward money (or all of it, at least) for kills during that time.
Random stuff:
Each game has 2 spectator slots seperate from the player slots, so I think a speccer won't block a game from being full.
I hope I'm missing an option to turn off the motion blur, because it's kind of annoying.
Haven't gotten to try the arms race mode yet, but from what I understand it's like COD's gun game?
Trophies can be earned vs. bots, which may well make this the easiest plat ever.Comment

Running very smooth here. I think my mouse sensitivity was a little high so looking around was a little jittery at times, but when I switched to controller I could easily see just how smooth it's running. Framerate is solid.

Still deciding if I'm picking this up on PC or PS3. I want to know if it's splitscreen on PS3, if so I'm going that route.Last edited by mikenoob; 08-21-2012, 09:45 PM.Comment

Re: Counterstrike Go
If it bleeds, you hit it.
+ Superior graphics that are fully scalable.
+ Dedicated servers on PC instead of the laggy P2P matchmaking that consoles use
+ Free Valve-made DLC on PC instead of paid DLC on consoles
+ Continuous title updates from Valve instead of the 1 maybe 2 updates you'll get if you're lucky on console.
+ Free community mods that are not available at all on consoles.
+ 30-plus players per game on PC vs. 10 players per game max on consoles.
etc.Last edited by jyoung; 08-21-2012, 09:54 PM.Comment

Re: Counterstrike Go
The game is unchanged from the most recent update of the beta.
Hoping tomorrow they add silencers...Comment

Re: Counterstrike Go
Well yeah, that. But if more than one person is shooting at the same enemy you probably won't know if you were hitting them until you see the kill message.Comment

Re: Counterstrike Go
Haha...well, I already have 3 different versions of CS on my PC. I wanted to see what playing the PS3 version with a mouse and keyboard would be like, and so far it's not disappointing.
It was also $3 cheaper with PS Plus and is a part of that PSN Play program.Comment

Re: Counterstrike Go
Maybe there is a way to bring up the damage readout in the console versions?
I know for the PC you just hit the console key (defaults to "~"), and it gives you numerical damage data based on the weapon used, the body parts that were hit, and number of health points deducted.Comment
