So I bought it...and it is the first game to ever jump scare me.

Just finished the game and it was awesome. I was able to save 5 people in the end. I may go back and play it again to see how other decisions play out.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I only saved two. Played the game with headphones on and mostly in the dark and it made me jump quite a bit. Wasn't sure I'd like it, but probably my favorite point and click type game that I've played.

Played completely blind, here's what happened to my characters. Dont click if you havent finished.

Jessica- Died 1st. I missed a qte while chasing after her. How Mike survived for hours in just a tank top after falling in the freezing water, I'll never know.
Emily- Was escaping the mine, accidentally hit the wrong button twice and she fell and got ground up. Yuck.
Chris- Ashley didnt let me in the house when escaping the monsters. Head ripped off.
Ashley- Whoops, stupid decision. Let the wrong one in.
Josh- Sister crushed his head with its hands. Ouch.
Mike- Died when I flipped the light switch. Boom.

Sam- Survived
Matt- Surprisingly survived, he was MIA for pretty much the entire 2nd half.

The only trophies I got were...

For throwing a vase at the psycho, for cutting mikes fingers off, for "shooting" Ashley, keeping the wolf alive, letting the monster in with Ashley, and blowing up the lodge.

I must say I really liked the first half. While it was still good after that, it wasn't as good.

When the characters die, is it because of failed quicktimes, those left or right R-stick decisions, or both? Which one is more frequently the culprit?

Both but the decisions you make play a big role too.

I rented it and finished with 4 survivors but could have had more. I messed up a couple of things. I really enjoyed it and was glad I rented it.

Sam and Ashley. Man I was so mad when that bitch Ashley stood there and let Chris die. I had a chance to save Mike too but I guess I blew the lodge too early.

This was the best game I ever played in a long time. I would give a 9.5 out of 10. I really think this type of interaction system will be the future of gaming. The last game I played with this type of interaction system was Wing Commander 4 back in the early 1990s.

The atmosphere was top notched. Loved the little sounds that came out of the controller speaker. Grant it I thought the 1st half of the game was better then the second half. Second half felt unnecessary cliche.

Only one dead so far...and possibly a second when i get home from work. This game went from kinda scary to very creepy.

Going in sale for $40 at BB next week already. I'm not a horror movie kinda guy but this interests me just because it's different then anything in my rotation.

$32 with GCU might be my price point to pull the trigger.

Hopefully there's a sale at the Canadian Best Buy as well, this is a Halloween game for sure! With Halloween being a Saturday I'm even more pumped. I'll go buy the game that morning (unless there's a sale between now and then) and pop it in at dusk and put my headphones on and play it in one go then shut down and have a horror movie marathon.

As you can tell I'm a huge fan of this genre .
