DAO is an amazing RPG. In fact it is all around one of the very best I have ever played along with Skyrim.

DA2 was good...but I never played it again after beating it, where as DAO I have played through 2 times and will again for a 3rd at some point.

This one should be a return to form.

      Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I think the biggest issue for me with DA2, the story. I love the gameplay mechanics and such, but going from trying to stop the darkspawn and archedemon to a bunch of smaller stories didn't work for me.

I loved both games, but the story of 2 was no where near as good as the story of DA:O.

Stopped by GS on the way home and bought DAO for $11.00

It may be a few days before I can start it, though.

I thought Origins was amazing (except for "The Fade" Arggggh!), but I couldn't really get into DAO2 and got rid of it pretty quickly. I might give it another shot one of these days though. I'll keep my eyes on the lookout for this one to see what direction the series is headed.

The Fade was the worst part, and most frustrating part, of gaming I have had in a long time... including Demon and Dark Souls... It's just so long, pointless, and not fun.

I didn't hate Dragon Age II, but it wasn't anything like Dragon Age.

Hopefully Dragon Age III will get back to the roots of the franchise. I loved the 1st one.

There are a lot of fans who want that from Bioware(I'm not one of them) but they've pretty much long since decided that they really don't wan't to make games in the style of DAO anymore. They'll bring back a few things from the first one, but the game is going to be more like DA 2 than Origins. The series will sink or swim with the current core mechanics.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Well that sucks and most likely will mean no purchase by me until used or cheap. To me DA:O was a great game that I beat with multiple races and multiple times for different ending to take to Dragon Age 2. I was very excited when I got it however then realized that everything that made DA:O special was stripped out of it and you were left with a shell of what the game once was with many feature just stripped from it. I barely could bring my self to finish my first play-through and got rid of it after. I was hoping after many of the comments about DA 2 being a sub-par game (Which is true) that they would go back to their roots and include some stuff from DA:O again. I am very disappointed.

I'm new to the series and only 6 hours into DAO, but it's an awesome game. I find myself not even wanting to work today. I would rather stay home and play. It's rare that I get that from a game anymore.

What did they take away in DA II ? I'm sad to hear most don't like it.. I may buy it anyways, eventually.. especially considering how cheap it will be.

Well I guess the best way to describe it is that its more Action and less RPG.

I'm not much of a reader, but I was in Books a Million and spotted a Dragon Age book that was a story/prequel to Origins.

I bought it for $7.00 and I may read it soon. If not, I'll get to it one day.
