Re: Bioware co-founders step down
I don't think it's RIP to anything. It sucks that they're leaving but they haven't been directly involved with Bioware games in awhile.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

I don't think Bioware was like "old Bioware" anymore, but not in a bad way. Those small studios just grow up, it's natural.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

ME3, while it sold very well, didnt not even come close to hitting the projected profit goals.Comment

Re: Bioware co-founders step down
Well, the main issue at the core of the issue is money. SWTOR cost over 300m to make, will not even come remotely to breaking even, had the resources of over 5 different studios tied up over the years in making it, and cost them about 50% of their employees to lose their jobs.
ME3, while it sold very well, didnt not even come close to hitting the projected profit goals.
If I was projecting the sales they would be right where I would expect. Mostly previous Mass Effect fans would return to this game, it's not like CoD, for example, where nobody needs previous games to understand multiplayer or campaign.
Games like Mass Effect are going to have their 3-5 million strong fanbase, and unless they change the game from what it's supposed to be it'll always stay that way.
Just my 2 cents.Last edited by Steiner01; 09-19-2012, 03:52 PM.Comment

Sad day for the gaming industry. Neverwinter Nights 1 and DA: O were 2 of my favorite games of all time.Comment

No one has made an RPG like Baldur's Gate in a long time and I'm really tired of these "purists" determining what is or isn't a "real rpg".Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

In the last 10 or so years, they haven't really been RPGs . Only action games with RPG 'elements'/cinematic experiences/hiking/LARPing simulators and romanceable elf butt-sex.Comment

Sorry, I grew up in the 80's and 90's, when the gameplay was about tactics (actually having to think during combat), skill checks and dice rolls. Not about jumping into the game, following your quest compass, and mashing the awesome button until your covered in a pile of bs achievements.

And if a dice roll is what makes a "real" RPG, thank god we have whatever you call today's RPG's, because that's terrible, lmao.
I fail to see how Mass Effect has an "awesome button," along with Dark Souls, Skyrim, Fallout 3, KOTOR and pretty much every other RPG that has been released in the last decade.Comment
