Re: Project Zomboid
I have a question I didn't look for. Can you save games?
By the way Knight did you play the 1.5 build? I been reading about the newer upcoming builds and changes and combat looks like it will be MUCH better. A lot more tense the game will become judging by the changes.Last edited by Phobia; 11-16-2012, 01:56 PM.Comment

Re: Project Zomboid
There is supposed to be a "Save on Quit" feature, but I haven't tested it out yet. Although I've heard it does work, I'd make a test one and try it before trusting it though.
I mean, obviously there are several flaws with the game so far, such as no menu, odd combat controls, and could definitely be more help in the game as there is literally no help for you. You're on your own, simple as that.
But it's basically like minecraft. It's still an alpha version, so you're basically playing with them as they improve it.
I think at only $8 it's a steal personally, because it's only going to get better and as Phobia said it's already addicting as hell.
Also, if you get the 2.0 update be extremely cautious going out in general, but especially at night. Much, much more zombies now.
And wow, please don't be dumb around windows like me. I forgot that latest update enabled you to open and crawl through them, so I ended up surviving for about 5 damn minutes total because I accidentally opened a window and walked out it. Wouldn't be too bad, except it was from the 6th floor of the apartment complex.Last edited by 13; 11-16-2012, 09:04 PM.Celtics Bruins Sox Eagles Liverpool

Re: Project Zomboid
Yes...PC.
It's an early build....but you have full access for the $7.99 to all future releases.(I still can't figure out what the $49.99 purchase might be!)....
But even in it's raw stage....it's a pretty cool game.
I love that the object is just to survive!....as long as you can.
That mod that guy did looks awesome and it triples or quads the size of the game! Incredible!

I like that you can "climb" fences but the zombies don't.
Phobia...I think I'm running 1.5. Not sure. I'll check it out.
Shak...thanks for pointing out this game....GREAT pickup IMO.

Re: Project Zomboid
Also...I couldn't get the initial start of the game to use just my username/password. I had to use the code sent to me.
Now it allows just user/password.
If this comes out on steam.....hopefully I can add it to my library.
I played last night and found out really quick that upper floors are not better hiding places necessarily.
I lasted just one day ....got caught on the second floor and was swamped by a horde. No way out.
(can you jump out windows and live(second floor)?
I should have tried.

If you're using Win7...you MUST update Java for it to work

But yeah, I found the Villas to be a great main home base to fortify. That way I can run back to the little town from the story or the downtown area with ease. The key is then setting up a temporary shelter you know you can stay at when in those areas to gather supplies.Celtics Bruins Sox Eagles Liverpool

Re: Project Zomboid
I just survived 12 days 19 hours! I had a safe house all boarded up, frig stock full of food, all cabinets stocked with chips & coke, nice stock of soup ingredients, a base ball bat, fire axe, flash light, and was on a perfect eat & sleep schedule. My guy would get hungry around lunch & tired around mid night. I would get up every day around 8 to 9 then head out for supplies.
A huge horde kept staying by the diner, which I just kept by passing. Out of no where I was walking by my self and just died instantly. Come to find out a survivor shot me with a shotgun. I didn't know they would do that!!
To me honest I felt like I would never die. The fire axe killed zombies in one swing and I could mow for dozens no problem. My safe house was perfect and never felt threatened.
This was on the stable 1.5, going to try the latest 2.0 more from here on out.Comment

Re: Project Zomboid
I just played 2.5 for about 2 hours. I survived a lot less in this build. First game I died of thirst cause I could not find anything to drink. Second play through I got mauled by a huge HUGE horde that broke down a door and ripped into me. I went down swinging with my knife but there was way to many.
I like the 2.5 build a LOT. There is much more features I find are critical to making the game more tense.Comment

Re: Project Zomboid
Obviously there are worries about it like them needing supplies you find and the risk of being noisier since you're two guys, not just one. But if they don't want to join you, your guy will get pissed about it. I tried inviting one dude, he rejected and after my guy got pissed I asked again, and he was like "I don't like that tone!" *BOOM*
I seriously love this game. It's a great time killer.Celtics Bruins Sox Eagles Liverpool
