I still don't understand how Black Hammer is "useless". It still does high damage and has a higher capacity with no reload time. It's still the best sniper out there isn't it?

I also think that saying they shouldn't care about grouping unless they add matchmaking is silly. A LOT of people don't want matchmaking. I'm one of them. I hate it on the weekly. They do need to have some sort of in game group finder, but matchmaking is not the solution.

Wouldn't say useless but there is no difference in landing three rapid shots or three well placed outside of reloading and for the enemies this gun wrecks it won't really matter.

But BH has had a strange journey. First Hive Dirsuptor didn't proc, took about a month for acknowledgement, then they removed it for like 2 or 3 months from the gun. Fixed it and made you rebuy the perk...

Bungie is funny they want you to use a gun until they don't anymore and once they don't the nerf it to make it unappealing that's thier MO through year 1.

ARS nerfed, Thorn buffed, shotty buffed, fusion rifles nerfed, Pulse Rifles Buffed, Torn nerfed, pulse rifles nerfed.....

When is the update supposed to drop?

September.

BH is being nerfed to trash levels. All about increasing boss encounter times. Just like the Ghorn nerf. Its not about the LFG. That is bull.

As far as bungie is concerned, the LFG shouldnt even exist in their eyes. They are acting like they have to kill guns to fix the LFG community. Its bull****. Perhaps they should add matchmaking so people who dont get added to 35 POEs on nonbungie websites can get matched up through Bungie themselves? Maybe they should work on their bosses not being absurd bullet sponges that make burning them down the optimal strategy in every situation?

I mean the entire POE35 fight is one obnoxious bullet sponge fight, that if not run perfectly will end in insta wipe. This is the only boss fight mechanic bungie can think of these days. No wonder their community LOVES burning down a boss before it can even walk.

^Matchmaking is one of the worst possible things that could come to this game IMO.

Half of the people I'm ever paired up with in the match made activities are either AFK or have no idea what they are doing.

I don't mind helping new people but I don't want to be forced into it.

matchmaking for raids and high level POE would be the worst thing ever.

I think he means forced matchmaking. I hate matchmaking sometimes, mostly because you get lumped in with asshats with no way of fixing it other than leaving and sitting on loading screens again.

All it needs is optional matching. I'm not a programmer but it doesn't seem that hard. When you're at the event you want, hit Square for matchmaking or X to start. I don't mean Raids, just the higher POE's like 32 and 34 and also the Nightfall.

Calling Black Hammer trash is a HUGE overraction. I mean, come on. You're still hitting 18 high impact shots in about the same amount of time other high impact snipers hit probably 13 or 14 because you aren't realoading. We're still talking 30% more damage than other snipers. As was, it was like an easy button.

And they don't want you using the lfg sites probably, no. They want you using their site/app, which has a "recruitment" section for raids, heroics, and crucible. It's not good, and they should do it more like the lfg sites, but saying they don't care about lfgs is also an overreaction.

They've also been changing the bullet spongyness of the bosses. Skolas isn't bad at all. It has interesting mechanics. He really doesn't take that long to kill (hasn't taken me more than two tries with random groups, and I'm probably an average player, at best). The only fight I've really felt wad "bullet spongy" lately is the servitor right before Skolas.

Rebalancing us something that happens in games like this all of the time. Sometimes, you change for the sake of change to keep the game fresh. Black Hammer is still probably the best pve sniper in the game, it's just not a slam dunk anymore. Gjallerhorn is still probably the best rocket launcher is the game, though if you decided to use a different exotic, you probably won't be looked at sideways anymore. Like literally 4 pages back people were complaining everyone used the same guns; they bring 2 of those guns back down to earth, to the point where they're still really good but not clear #1's, and now some people are throwing world class hissys.

Oh please, the times you can sit and just empty 18 shots nonstop are basically nill, and any time you can not having to reload doesn't mean squat because you can just sit and reload as well. So you can instead get a sniper that hits the same but with better range, better stability, better fire rate, better perks (like hidden hand and unflinching, or even replenish, triple tap, or clown cartridge to get more shots).

Even ignoring every other perk, an efrideet rolled with triple tap and you'll have better damage overall due to increased ammo, roll it with spray and play and it negates much of white nail's advantage without needing the three shots. That's ignoring all the other perks where you can customize the weapon to make it better than Black Hammer.

Bungie can't have it both ways. They say they listen to the community and take that feedback. Who in the community was complaining about the white nail perk? The charge time of Ice Breaker, the wolf pack rounds of a Gally? I would say almost no one.

Gally being a factor in people not being able to find groups...Bull **** flat out. I don't have a gally and my inbox is bombarded with people asking for help with Raids and PoE. It's out there but to mention that as a reason for nerfing a weapon is laughable at best.

As far as the load out complaint...that revolved around PvP and you know it. No one cares what thier raid team is packing as long as it gets the job done. Very few complaints about the PvP based nerfs and buffs. Most PvP load outs in IB and ToO were Thorn, Felwinters (PC+1 or Matador) and a Proximity RL. They did a very good job with that.

The PvE complaints were around boss fight mechanics and length/repetitiveness. Nerfing the BH, IB and Gally don't address those and probably make them worse.

"Hissys" are what Bungie responds to more than anything as history has show with this game so why not?

I've seen people on Reddit complain about lfg ads demanding Gjallarhorn but in my time LFGing crota HM after my regular squad stopped (and I still needed hunger) and for PoE I've never seen any demands for Gjallarhorn and I've never seen anybody care if one didn't have it. Not saying it doesn't happen, it's just not prevalent. Of course there are also complaints about people demanding people be 34 for HM VoG, and that just proves that some people on LFG are stupid and you can't nerf stupid.

Of course people never complained about Gally or BH; it doesn't mean it needs balancing. People never complain about something being OP in PvE. Doesn't mean it isn't. Does it fix the problems with the game? Absolutely not. Does it even start? Probably not. My biggest issue is the lack of variety in PoE (why the first 4/5 stages aren't difference every week and the modifiers never change is beyond me). But that doesn't mean it shouldn't have been.

I can't find where it was, but there were posts about how everyone (who has them) uses fatebringer, black hammer/icebreaker/swordbreaker, and gally/hunger. And it's true, there was little to no variety. They wanted to increase variety, so they could either increase the damage of every other gun, or bring those more closely in line.

Now, the Icebreaker nerf, that's a bigger deal to me. It's an exotic, it should be special. Now it's worse than most legendary snipers. The reload is so slow now, you're better off using a legendary, killing everything, and using a synth.
