So I was doing the Jolly Holliday quest and got up to the part of the quest where you have to get X amount of shotgun kills in the Crucible or against high level minions. I got that done and turned the quest into Amanda Holliday only to find the next part of the quest requires to kill the Shield Brothers with shotguns only. I thought to myself "easy enough I'll just hop into the level 36 playlist and get it done". I go to my director, go to the dreadnaught and find I have to do the strike on 290 light level difficulty with modifiers... really?!

Trying to do this with randoms is going to be rather difficult.

No just do damage with a shotgun on both. It's actually really easy because it's specialist and another modifier right now I can't remember. But just sniper the tank.

And kill the bosses with a good special. I used a shotgun just because it did way more damage. But I did it with randoms. And we didn't wipe. But it's not gonna be as hard as it seems when you get in. Some of the modifiers are to help you not just for the enemies.

Yep just have a shotgun equipped when u beat them.

I actually was able to get the kill shots on both because I was thristy but from my understanding you don't have to actually kill them with a shotgun. It would make it impossible for all 3 guys running it to get it done. But if u have an opening for a shotgun kill do it just to be safe lol

I've gotten my Titan to 288 light level now. For those of you who have completed the Kings Fall raid, is 288 light level enough to at least hold my own? Or do I need to get to at least 290?

Depends on the rest of the group for the most part, as long as there isn't more than one or two below 290 you should be fine as long as you have a good sniper and a good primary in the 290's. This raid is more mechanic heavy than firefight heavy.

If RNGesus is on your side you can get a pretty big boost during the raid as you get rewards. The DPS checks really come at the end of the raid really.

Btw I like how special ammo synths have become the new heavy ammo synths. I pop them like crazy in this new raid. My heavy is rarely used if ever.

I hit 300 last night. This might seem like a small achievement, but after being stuck at 29 forever because of the VOG drops back in the day, hitting 3 bills felt good.

Yep, and the best part is that once you get to 300 light all exotic engrams (for your class) decrypt to 310, so you can buy multiple engrams and infuse them into the gear you like.

I say for your class, because I got two guantlets engrams and one was for my warlock and only decrypted to 290, but the hunter stuff was 310.

From my experience, it is not all exotic engrams. You just have a chance to get a 310. One of three engrams turned into a 310 for me (the other 2 were 290). The blueprints stayed at 280.

Let me know if it is working differently for you (I prefer your explanation).

Yeah I think it's only items for your equipped character. All my hunter Engrams (2 so far) have been 310. The one Warlock item was 290. Small sample I know.

Blue prints will stay 280, but if you buy engrams from Xur I believe all those that are to your 300 level character will be 310 light. So we'll see this Friday if my theory is correct.

I'm not at that level yet, but saw it ends up being about half the engrams.

The daily today is scourge of winter. It's the first non taken king mission they've done. I really hope this is the beginning of them opening stuff up; I really want the old strikes added to the playlists.

Golgoroth is a douche bag, if you have the wrong strategy. I jumped in with some friends for that part of the raid this weekend. The first couple of times we tried to do the whole "passing his gaze off" thing between two people with the other four in the pit, one of which was on cursed thralls. It turned out we just weren't doing enough damage. One guy left, we got a titan in with weapons of light, and we only popped one orb at a time to damage him. Only took 4 rounds of jumping in the pit to down him.

So, I haven't done the raid yet. Will probably do it soon (I'm at 292-293 with all my chars, so it's almost time). Quick question, which class/subclass is the most important to have. Since I have all 3, I may as well use the one in most demand.
