Re: Destiny
After playing with some young folks in my fireteam and some randoms, it dawned on me that maybe schools do not teach how to read clocks any more (opposed to digital time).
I am not going to provide this image to everyone new person I play with...Attached FilesComment

Re: Destiny
That's bunk, people tried everything it's just that so much was trash compared to Gjallarhorn. Gjallarhorn did too much damage compared to regular rocket launchers, and other exotic guns weren't powerful enough over legendary weapons to make up the difference of not using Gjallarhorn. So Bungie designed time to kill around Gjallarhorn which meant you couldn't use anything but Gjallarhorn. So that meant you used Gjallarhorn or else you took much longer to beat the activity, made it harder by getting an excess of adds, or both.I'd actually prefer that they leave the old stuff in the past. The stuff from the old raids (especially VoG) were great but if everyone could just keep using their awesome, old stuff there'd be no reason for them to try anything new. Look at what happened with Gally.
They've already made year 2 versions of the best raid weapons, you can get a year 2 Fatebringer, a year two Vision of Confluence, etc, they just don't have the elemental damage.
Here is what you do with old raids to keep them fresh without having to redesign all the raid weapons and armors: make them like strikes. Get rid of the checkpoint saves, make each loot drop point drop end of strike loot (couple of blues, chance at legendary, rep), with increased gains as you go further in like a strike playlist. For the chests replace shards and energies with motes and coins. It should be easy, all you are doing is replacing loot tables, and it would make all the old raids worth playing in terms of loot, but not with loot good enough to overshadow the current endgame.Comment

Re: Destiny
I'd say you just scrap the old weapons in VoG and CE. Make them 280 or so (below Kings Fall) and make all the drops random purples. To top it off, have the end reward be year 2 mythocast and nechrocasm. And since KF stuff is all in the 300s, make this stuff all in the 290s. And have chances at year 2 exotics in the chests.
When I say I want them to bring up the old raids, it's not because I'm desperate for a Vision or Fatebringer. I actually just want to do them again. As is, there is actually limited end game content. This way, you could have 3 1/2 raids as opposed to 1. In the long run, that seems like a good idea to me.

Re: Destiny
Was finally able to get the TTK last night and pulled a all nighter. Was only planning on playing for a few hours but the Story and all these Quest just kept me wanting more. I was kinda sad that the story was short, but for some reason I got the impression that it was just beginning at the end. The TTK makes me wonder what Bungie could have done with Destiny if it wasn't being held back by last gen.
Got my Hunter to 289 light, and I'm loving the Nightstalker. Was skeptical of this class when they first showed it off but it is amazing. What light level would be recommend for the raid, and what gear?Comment

290 should be get your comfortably through everything except Oryx. You probably want to be pushing 300 with him, which is reasonable if you get some good drops on the way.Was finally able to get the TTK last night and pulled a all nighter. The only gear I would say is absolutely required is a high impact sniper. 1000 yard stare from the Vanguard vendor is the easiest to obtain.Comment

Re: Destiny
^^^Taken War Earth
Just update the light level of the old raids, make the drops legendary engrams, call it a day. More content the better Bungie.
Additionally, please add the legacy strikes to the heroic playlist for Gods sake. Im tired of being on a long streak and undying mind pops up and my entire fireteam quits on me. I here the old strike bosses have exclusive gear too but nobody would know it because nobody runs legacy strike playlist. Come on Bungie!Comment

Re: Destiny
Got my light from 237 to 260 last night. I feel like my progress has been abnormally slow in that regard. Should I continue running strikes to get my light to the 300 mark?
Also got my first Year 2 Exotic, The Truth. Certainly not my first choice, but it's something, and it came from a purple engram so it was a bit of a bonus.
I do miss my VOC in the primary slot. Old reliable. All these crusty rare weapons just aren't cutting the dijon.
I also randomly came upon a group doing the Court of Oryx, though I had no idea myself what to do; I just helped kill things. The chests at the end of each boss dropped nothing for me, though. Is that because I didn't start the attack?Comment

Re: Destiny
I ran an ungodly amount of the strike play list to get into the mid 290's before raiding. You can do the raid earlier, it just might be a little harder or you can get a strong group to help. Once in the raid, it's the quickest path to 300.Got my light from 237 to 260 last night. I feel like my progress has been abnormally slow in that regard. Re: Destiny
Do Court of Oryx too. It's particularly great for artifacts

Re: Destiny
Hopefully I didn't drag you all down too much last night. We almost got it done. Also, if you see me on and need some help let me know. Sometimes I have the time to play for a long time, sometimes I don't.We haven't been having much luck either, there is one in our group I have zero confidence in and he makes others not play up to par and all told makes the group not focused enough to do the more difficult parts (daughters and Oryx). We have a replacement but it is going to be a while before he's able to run.Last edited by fishepa; 09-29-2015, 04:23 PM.Comment

Re: Destiny
Do I have to recollect the fragments I collected in the first mission or no? I collect 3 by accident thinking they would stack but it kept showing 1. Then when I got the quest to collect 5, and the other 2 didn't show up.
Would it show up for the Touch of Malice Quest, or am I going to have to collect them over?Comment
