For sure, but it's by far the quickest way to get it done. Took me 5 or so matches. The one time I did get heavy I got 4 or 5 kills.

I'd just like to send a big thank you to bungie for creating the exotic swords. I think what we were all hoping for was another extremely frustrating way to die in crucible where you can't change the outcome and didn't actually do anything wrong, so theres nothing to learn. That one game of crucible I play for legendary marks every day is such a joy.

I guess its just one more thing on the long list of items that screw up PvP so I don't know why I care. Its not like they're ever going to fix it.

For the second week in a row this ******* puts off buying gunsmith orders to save inventory space, then forgets until it's too late. Stupid.

I find all three great, and they are all really balanced and fun. I mained my titan, mostly because I liked the hammer before I ever played. Here is my take on all three:

PvE:

Sunbreaker: Balanced between clearing adds and damaging boss, all at range.
Stormcaller: Great at clearing adds and generating orbs, just mows right through
Nightstalker: More of a support class in PvE, debuffing bosses and adds, then generating orbs from kills.

PvP:

Sunbreaker: Just awesome, you get to throw a bunch of hammers that slightly track and explode on impact like a rocket launcher. Yeah.
Stormcaller: With enemies bunched up, or it is one of the more corridoor-y maps it is mass slaughter
Nightstalker: Less adept at killing, but a great cancel for other supers. Three shots that kill on impact and/or tether and slow people down. Best of all, tethering people cancels their super.

At least those are my takes.

Thanks burns that's a good breakdown, probably could've read that on Reddit but I'm pumped as hell to play with you guys again.

Ehh, you can snipe them and that solves the sword problem for me.

Destiny's PvP isn't as bad as lots make it out to be. I play at range these days. Pulse and Sniper and I can avoid the garbage of shotgun/swords/hand cannons for the most part.

Backpedal and shoot, grenade, and melee/shotgun, they either take the shots or they block and are too slow to get to you.

Don't really see any difference between swords and shotguns to be honest, both basically instant death if they get close.

Saw no mention of it but Kotaku posted a rumor that said Bungie were going to try a model where paid cosmetic stuff would pay for free missions for this coming year.

Today Bungie announced Tess would return and sell emotes for "silver" that is sold for real money (should be pretty familiar to anyone that has played a f2p MMO).

Guess that is why we haven't heard about a season pass or DLC.

The new maps make it hard to play from range. The previous maps were much better for that, hopefully they bring them into the rotation more.

Tess arrives a week from tomorrow. They're spotting everyone some Silver too, so you can get an emote or 2.

Up over 300, and Exotics are coming in higher. Got a 310 Monte Carlo, 310 Hereafter, and a 310 Graviton Fortfeit. Also have snagged 290 versions of 4th Horseman, Invective, and Inmost Light. Gonna rock the raid on my Warlock tonight. Hopefully get that one over 300 too.

I'm going to assume you haven't seen the Arc exotic sword in action yet. It wins at every distance.

Done the raid 3 times, and I've gotten 3 hand cannons. Got 300 boots, 306 arms and a 309 ghost out of it though. Now all 3 characters are over 300. Also got enough marks to pick up Hung Jury. I liked my scout rifle with firefly and rescue mag, but a 13 round magazine killed me.

Dan and I finally got six competent people together and finished the raid. I actually found the entire raid fairly simple and easy, its just a matter of finding people who don't screw up a lot and pile up bad deaths.

I got alot of problems with crucible. Doing the sword quest last week with my hunter showed me its not as bad as I always thought. I get **** done in there. However, where I dont have fun in crucible is when Im in it on my own. When I play crucible with 1-5 of my raid guys its INSANELY fun. Talking trash with my teammates, clowning each other for getting wrecked, talking gameplans, its all great stuff. The best is when we're clowning but all of a sudden the game gets close so we all focus and get so serious to pull out the win. Its those times where Destiny is at its best for me. That communication between 6 guys, raids, crucible awesome stuff.

Too bad its so rare for my guys to want to play crucible (or for me to be coaxed into playing it). When I hop in there alone I feel like a husk. I could put up a 4.0 KD and still feel bored and uninterested because Im sitting in my chair in complete silence. It sucks. I think ToO is so successful because its high competition yes, but the actual interaction between squad mates makes for some great and memorable moments. There is no silence in ToO. Its constant communication constant engagement in the goal. In crucible control I feel like Im on auto pilot when Im in there solo. But I guess thats more a personal problem for me. Oh wells.



TLDR: not enough talking happens in crucible. Its boring and makes the uneven balance that much more glaring.

So I am a Destiny noob (as is my brother in-law whom I have teamed up with already). I just started playing over the past weekend. I had the game for months (it was a gift) and finally got around to popping it in

Level 4. LOL.

How much will get out of this game without the Taken King content? It is just the standard version of the original release.

Honestly you'll get nothing substantial out of it. What you have now "vanilla" destiny is basically a beta.

Agree with this 100% I find myself playing classic 6v6 games more and more.
