With so many good games out there is no reason to stick around.

Honestly, it's not a game that needs a huge population, and it will always have a population, even if it goes down. There's not enough variety in the endgame activities, imo, but there's plenty to do.

You took too long to join if that's how you feel. If you were here in September you would have been in good shape.

With that said, there are plenty people still playing destiny. More than plenty. The real problem is not having a consistent group to play with. Friends in real life or friends made in destiny itself. If you're trying to jump in cold and play solo, you'll end up disliking the game.

This x 1000. That was my problem when I'm September. No one to play with. Now though it's a lot better having a good group to game with.

              Re: Destiny

Eventually you just run out of stuff to do, honestly. If you're really into it you can play once or twice a week to do the weekly stuff, get marks, try and get new gear. At this point I'm basically just in it for raiding and trying to increase my light, though there's really no real reason for me to get my light higher. I acknowledge this as being a bit pointless.

If you just started playing in September you're probably still in good shape in terms of having things to accomplish. Unfortunate for us Year 1 vets that there's nothing left in terms of progression and we don't really know what we're working towards (if anything). TTK was a good addition, but I do hope "Destiny 2" has a bit more going on.

Even I really slowed down playing and I love the game. Now im mostly just weekend raiding with my group. Got it down to about 2 hours. Mostly due to Oryx bs, like the orbs not damaging him at all when we blow them up. I hate that.

Its inevitable things will slow down.

                  Destiny

I honestly think 3 of coins was a massive misstep by them. Last year collecting exotics kept me doing raids weekly till I got Ghorn in April. Then I just kept going to finish the list. This year I had every exotic after a week or two of coin grinding.

If you really want a reason to keep playing destiny now, you have to be crazy into PvP. That's why I want the racing to become a big deal. If they can make a destiny skinned Mario kart to go along with the raiding striking pvping it would be good for them.

Eventually growing into legit space ship warfare gameplay. I really hope the pod racing thing doesn't flop. But it shipping with only two maps is worrisome. That won't be enough to keep people's attention.

                    Re: Destiny

While I agree there is a lack of things to do and it's sad that Bungie keeps stepping on their toes and not implementing some simple yet game changing things (private matches, keeping old content relevant, etc) this is a game that I've sunken probably at least 1000 hours into. Other than maybe NBA 2K and maybe the pokemon games when I was little, I don't think I've ever played any game that much.

It's okay to play it intermittently in my opinion, I don't want to feel like I have to play every day in order not to miss something. But again, there are some major improvements that need to be made and I'm not sure I see those happening.

As Burns said, that Sparrow racing looks so idiotic, it's whoever can get more speed boosts and not hit a rock. I get it, it's supposed to be a cool and exciting new thing to do, but that just looks like a mess.

Agree. You run out of things to do and then realize that you are doing mundane things just to possibly get new gear. The game basically is about gear chasing once you do everything else.

Yeah, I agree with Killa that 3ofC was a bad idea. Just makes it waaayyyy too easy to get most exotics. I did a hard mode run and got 2 engrams plus a Crest of Alpha Lupi. And once you beat Oryx on hard, what's really the point of still going?

Pretty much my last motivation is the challenges and getting the hard mode shader (still need a helmet). Getting a primary over 314 would be cool too.

This right here. I seriously LOVED chasing gear in Y1. Sure, there was frustration (never getting FB...still salty), but chasing every exotic kept me going. I've always enjoyed a good gear grind. Sounds weird, and I really don't think they managed the great trickle all that will in Y1, but the feeling of getting that piece of gear you were after for months was awesome.

In Y2, I really feel like they messed up with 3oC. I ran out of stuff to get REALLY fast, minus raid legendaries, and I had all the good ones anyway. I was done with Oryx over a month ago because there was no reason to be any higher in light than I was. Although to be perfectly honest, all of the new games dropping influenced that as well. But at that point, I had stopped doing everything minus my raids each week.

I don't agree that 3ofcoins are the problem, there were exotics from vanilla that I didn't have yet that didn't stop the strong need for tdb or house of wolves. There's just so many times you can do something before the magic is gone. You have all the vendor weapons that are worth a damn, all the strikes have been played to death, the raid you are just trying to eek out a couple of points of light that just won't matter by the time the next content comes around.

That's part of it too. But if there weren't 3ofC, people are happier with what Xur brings, nightfalls have more value, and doing the raid has more value.

There are other things I'd change too. The other strikes need to be in the vanguard/heroic/nightfall rotation. Heroic should have different modifiers, whether that be changing weekly or random. And they need to do updated versions of VoG, Crota, and PoE, even if that's just making them 310 or 320 light with no Taken. Have non elemental versions of the old weapons drop.
