    Re: Destiny

I edged factions just naturally, once I was close to a new package I just controlled the rep gains, no need for that package now.

Patch is the 8th, btw, and either immediately after or Tuesday it will start some Siva patrol stuff.

Weapon balancing patch coming soon as well. Don't know if it's a part of the one Tuesday or not. Expect dumb nerfs again

Please give me hand cannons back. I took a break from playing from House of Wolves until like a month ago. Only to find out hand cannons have been nerfed to hell. I want them back.

They are actually really solid, there are a lot of good ones.

For PvP the Eyasluna is incredible, Finnala's Peril, Lord High Fixer, TLW (obv.), and I've seen some people do well with a few others.
For PvE they are all decent, your rolls matter more than anything. TDYK is good with a solid roll, all the above ones I mentioned are also good for PvE, and the Imago Loop if you can get one with a solid roll is like a mini Fatebringer.

There are a few issues with hit registration on some, most noticeably the Hawkmoon but Hand Cannons are really good IMO. It's all I use really.

They're really not consistent in PvP though. I've got a Finalas with a great PvP roll, and despite that, I have to be on my A+ game to perform nearly as well as the other good primaries. Pulse rifles take little skill to dominate with, and scout rifles are nearly as foolproof.

I understand the want for hand cannons to take a "skilled" hand to do well with, but the other primary types have little to no such drawbacks. This excludes TLW of course. From my experience, you are purposely handicapping yourself by using a hand cannon in PvP in its current state.

They aren't as easy to use I agree but I'll disagree with all the other points. I think they are very effective and I'm not a PvP God by any means.

The roll is important, I'm lucky to have a really great Eyasluna with Sureshot IS.

I will agree that they have been nerfed and aren't as effective as they once were, but I find them being used much more often from everyone and I find them to be very fun and good to use.

                  RoI can't come quick enough.

Also, if you want sterling treasures for anything, make sure you grab them before Thursday, after the patch there will only be one available from PoE, the others will be gone.

Two more weeks. Haven't played since January. I'm guessing RoI will be similar to TTK in terms of content, but have they announced anything for next spring? Or are they going all-in on Destiny 2 for next fall?

They haven't announced anything past the end of the year, they also haven't said Destiny 2 would be fall.

It would be nice if they somehow could get Destiny 2 out in the spring or early summer. Or a spring update to Destiny that would serve as a lead-in to Destiny 2.

                          Re: Destiny

If I was a Bungie dev? This spring the old raids are upped to a new higher light with a bunch of guaranteed drops at high light. Every month, jumps in light for the drops from all the raids with, depending on the plot of destiny 2, you build more and more crazy instances during the raids. I believe the destiny 2 raid will be Vex based (considering the old roadmap). Start more and more replacing raid bosses with crazy encounters. Playing Crota? Randomly fighting Crota instead of Crota it spawns atheon with Vex all around and a minotaur who drops relic instead of the swordbearer. Running VoG, replace bosses with other vex strike bosses, replace them with cabal or fallen or whatever. Make it increasingly random the closer you get to Destiny 2. Destiny 2 is some vex based, time ****ery reset.

I predicate this all on destiny 2 giving a reset, keep your guardian but no equipment (I personally feel like they need to hard reset weapon and general game balance, no way to do that for basic crucible without). This gives you a lot of crazy **** to do, with really minimal new works, and leads you right into Destiny 2.

I like the idea Burns. The Vex have always been the most interesting "faction" in the game to me, and this would be a cool way to explain a reset with some time travel type of deal.

I also read a fairly cool idea that involved Destiny 2 beginning with you launching into the Tower, and after speaking with the Vanguard, having the Tower come under a massive attack. You basically have to fight to your ship while members of the Vanguard are dying around you, and the vaults get blown up in the process which would explain the loss of gear. It would immediately make whatever enemy orchestrated the attack the new big bad, and start things out fresh all around.

I do like those ideas, unfortunately I don't think it would go over very well. Especially with the collector types. Though that's certainly a minority so maybe it's not a huge deal.

I would love to see the Tower expanded and be able to walk around areas outside of it. A battle on the surface would be the perfect way to introduce those areas. Expanding Tower population and making more social gathering spots, particularly where you can meet groups for raids/strikes, I think is mandatory.
