EL OH EL....I planned to do a quick 10-15 match grind session for IB rank today. Not so much. I really wish we could just cut hackers fingers off after they are caught. Harsh, yes sure. But **** em.

Re: Destiny
I'm going to start this post off by saying most people have already made up their mind on Destiny's "competitive" multiplayer, so if you're going to get offended by my post feel free to move on down the road. lol
That said, against my better judgement I played enough IB the past two days to hit rank 5(mostly, I think I've lost 9 of my last 10 games while needing just one more win).
I'll mostly pass over the usual stuff, like horrible lag that benefits the player with a poor connection(great design) and matchmaking that seems to place me against full teams the majority of the time(I'm not sure if the game is taking more into account than connection when matchmaking, but it sure does feel like it. I play against so many people who clearly aren't living anywhere near me).
The two main thoughts I had while playing IB were: Are these really the same people who made Halo, or is it a new staff under the same banner? I find it really hard to believe the same people who made Halo 1 through Halo Reach would be pleased with Destiny's PvP.
The other thought I had was "Why do I still play this game?" and that led me to the conclusion that I should stop. Unless meaningful content is added to the game(which seems unlikely) I'm pretty much done until Destiny 2.
My review of destiny after playing it on and off for over a year is pretty straightforward. The PvE side is awesome until you run out of content to do, and since the game is so content light, that doesn't take long. The PvP side is awful. Everyone that reads this, do yourself a favor and never play PvP again. Take my advice and find a new game, thats what I'm going to do.

Destiny
My problem with destiny PvP in a nutshell: there are too many variables and the game is not consistent enough to take the competitive game seriously.
Oh and there should be no heavy ammo. That annoys the hell out of me.Last edited by kingkilla56; 01-04-2016, 07:49 PM.Comment

Re: Destiny
Personally, I'm not a fan of pvp. I did IB this week, and it quickly got to the point where I was just doing it because I had gotten this far, may as well keep going.
On the PvE side, there needs to be a significant piece of new content by the end of this month. There's plenty of content, imo, but we've all done it all in the last year and a half. A VoG/CE/PoE lvl 40 challenge mode could tide people over for a bit. But, as of right now, there's only one end game pve activity. At least there are 2 pvp ones.

They'll announce that they updated vault of glass. Then Crotas end a couple months later.

I enjoyed how fast and easy Crotas end was. Kings fall is a no go for me with ransoms because it's so tedious.Comment

Re: Destiny
This is so true. It honestly made me quit the game. Snipers being able to just lock down routes all game and shotgun rushers ruined the experience for me. Wth is the point of a primary when you can keep special ammo all game long.Comment

Re: Destiny
It'd be a bandaid to be sure. VoG would probably keep people engaged for a month of runs, tops. But it also would take less programming, I imagine.

Re: Destiny
I laugh every time someone tries to argue that snipers aren't the best. Its not even close.
I also forgot to mention in my post that the PvP isn't so terrible until you're about three minutes into the game, then you're just going to die by supers and heavy weapons for the next 10 minutes or so. Its really fun.Comment

Re: Destiny
Yea crucible pvp is really unbalanced. At first i liked it because it was somthing new but as time went on my experiences just got worse and worse. Snipers in general are way too strong. With no idle sway is cake for anyone to hardscope a choke point with their sights at head level and just wait for people to round the corner and pop.I laugh every time someone tries to argue that snipers aren't the best. Also because of the radar constantly showing you where enemies are flanking people like that is almost impossible if they have any sort of awareness. And to top it off heavy spawns can win or lose you a match if you can stop the other team from grabbing theirs. Ive never seen anything like it in my life.Comment

Re: Destiny
I appreciate all the opinions but for me Destiny PvP is some of the most fun I've had gaming, it's what I play probably about 80% of the time.
It can be frustrating at times but I love it. I also don't usually play clash or control unless it's IB, I stick to rumble or the 3v3 modes, much more skill and strategy involved IMO

Re: Destiny
Before I definitely hated PVP but now I play that more than anything. I think a sniper should be feared and a shotgun should be lethal. I don't like what they've done with fusion rifles and hand cannons but all in all it's fun for me. Especially since I've been playing more competitive, learning to snipe and trying to raise my kd. You start to pay attention to more. Map awareness. Traffic areas. Best spawn points. Meta weapons. I like 3v3 more but whatever you're playing communication is key. How to engage gun fights and kill supers is key.I appreciate all the opinions but for me Destiny PvP is some of the most fun I've had gaming, it's what I play probably about 80% of the time.

This is actually the 1st time I've really spent time learning a FPS besides Golden Eye lol. I usually play sports or fighting games.Comment

I second everything you've said, I've actually tried to practice this game and learn the different strategies and maps to become better at this game. Only other time I did that was with MW2.
In any PvP related game you will run into people that just play for exploits or to have a high KD so they will hard scope or just run around with a shotty. These can be frustrating moments but if you flank and/or use communication you can definitely overcome it.
