Ok - so there is a difference in soapstones? Like the small one is for something else?

Also, is Sinner's Rise a pretty hard board or am I just crazy? I can barely make it through the water, and if I somehow get to the boss I am getting crushed.

Any other spots I should check out? It looks like I am either able to that or huntsman's cope, as I have beaten everything else. Is huntsman's a better option to start?

Go through huntsman as I believe that was supposed to be an early game area.

Huntsman's is a lot easier to get around, IMO. Sinner's Rise is much better if you just run through those enemies when you have to.

Ive been on a tear. I started over yesterday. And as of today, Ive downed 9 bosses. Im not too sure what the story of this game is, or where Im suppose to go in any particular order but I've got the game down to a science now. Its not an inherently hard game. Its a game that requires attention. Thats the best way I can put it.

I went knight and have been having a blast. Im starting to add faith on the build for ****s and giggles. I want to shoot lightning from my hands.

I've just been summoning folks to help me with the bosses left and right. I basically went from level 22 to level 45 in 2 hours. I don't know why I was repeatedly trying to do it alone.

Beat the white knight in the Forest of Fallen Giants today. Felt so accomplished. It took me three or four life gems, but the job is done. Gonna try to level dexterity now to effectively wield the Heide Knight Sword he dropped as it levels with faith which I am focusing on.

Also, how often do you guys actually utilize your shield, if you have one equipped that is? I bought the Silver Eagle Kite Shield in Manjula that blocks 90% of physical damage, but I don't know if it was a mistake. I've rarely blocked, as my first instinct is to roll, but I suppose I could save some stamina by blocking.

My guy slow rolls so I almost exclusively use the shield. You'll want a shield that blocks 100% physical though.

Yeah, I can see the importance if you have a slow roll. I've been trying to keep my encumbrance low to avoid rolling slowly, but I may try to go with heavier armor as I have little physical resistance. Then again, I'm not sure what the best way to build a cleric is, so I'm kind of winging it. I typically hold the mace and shield and block occasionally, but also have my chime as my LH secondary incase I need to heal.

To be summoned, all you need to do is use your white soap stone [b](regular soap stone is goal oriented, small white soapstone is time oriented).[/b[ If you complete your goal, and survive the length of your time, you are rewarded with an item (usually a silky stone) and a bunch of souls. Sometimes, your humanity will be restored. This is a good way to learn bosses without taking the risk of losing souls. Win or lose, your returned to your world just the way you left it.
They are both time oriented; the smaller soap stone is about 5-10 minutes, while the larger is around 10-20 minutes.
