    Re: Dark Souls II

Advice needed. I found the Dragon Tooth weapon somewhere along my travels, and the scaling is pretty much crap. I have a +10 large club that does more damage than the DT +5. So I'm thinking of infusing it with Dark powers as well (decided to do so, actually). So here's the situation:

My Large Club +10 looks like this -- (420+147 base)

My Dragon Tooth looks like this -- (329+25 base, 329+17 dark)

So I can do math just fine, and the DT obviously adds up to more total damage of 700, and the Large Club only 567. But is that how it works? I really have no idea how weapon damage works in this series.

Edit: Did some testing and it looks like the DT does indeed do more damage, but it's not close to being a 25% increase like the total damage would suggest (closer to a 5% increase). Anyone know why this is?

Edit #2: So it turns out my Pursuer Ultra Greatsword +5 is doing way more damage than both weapons, despite lower base damage than both. I'm super confused as to why, but it looks like I found my weapon for the rest of the game!

Yeah if you're looking at pure numbers, the dragon tooth should technically do more damage. The one thing you forgot to account for is the enemies resistance to whatever element. In this case, dark and physical. If they do not have a high dark resist, in most cases the dragon tooth will do more damage.

Also, completed my first playthrough, about to head to ng+ soon.

You start the game over from the very beginning with all your current stats, items, and equipment. However, the enemies now also get stronger in every successive NG+.

You'll be able to use a Soul Vessel. You should have a handful of them, by that point.

I can't decide if I want to do NG+ or just a regular NG. I used a Bonfire Ascetic on an area with a decent amount of Petrified Dragon Bones and am in the midst of upgrading a boss weapon with S scaling on strength.

Anyway, I'd love to hear other thoughts on the ending, and where the series is going to go from here. I have some suspicions we aren't more than another couple of years from a DS3 release, given how well DS2 sold.
