    Dark Souls II

Nope there's no benefit or cons of invading. I guess the benefit would be to rank up and unlock stuff in the covenant, but I heard with every loss it deducts points. So unless you're winning 2:1 or 3:1, you won't be ranking up.

As for cons, I guess you just waste a cracked orb each time. If they disconnect on you, you don't get it back. It's frustrating to have people pull the plug because not only did you waste an orb that costs about 15000 souls, you have to sit through a loading screen for no reason.

Invading is just for pure fun/grief. It adds to the difficulty of dark souls and adds an element to the game that not even fighting npc invasions give you.

If you're on NG it is even worse if you waste a cracked orb. They aren't easily obtained. You can only start buying them on your second playthrough

EDIT: this is in regards to the brotherhood of blood. Invading as a bell keeper nets you a titanite chunk with each win, and other easily obtained covenant rewards. There are no cons as a bell keeper. As for the blue sentinels, I haven't joined them yet, so I have no idea how they work other than they use blue orbs to invade sinners. I'm not sure what you get or what you lose in an invasion.

I've read people stating that if you buy that Red ring the Cat in Majula sells, that forces enemies agro on you, you can do it. That is the only way I can think of, especially when things like Smelter and Rotten hit hard.

Red Eye ring doesn't work on the smelter demon anyway.

Im a mage so the issue I have with the Rotten is he's resistant to all types of magic. So its a fight of attrition for me with or without.

That being said im almost where I want to be with my mage build so I should have a better time going forward. Just need to add to my attunement

The update is out and apparently they removed the homing ability from the Amana mages entirely??? That was the only challenging part of that...

I might just make a new character to test out the boss nerfs. Really hope they didn't just make lost sinner into a pushover. He was fine as he was

I actually liked how aggressive the Sinner was. Sure she was a pain, but once you got the method down, it was a fun fight. I'm not sure why they nerfed the Last Giant as he was a push over, even without Pate. The hardest boss for me was the damn Ruin Sentinels

Time to start NG+ for me .

Ha. Man, I really love the Souls community. Smelter has that damn pulse attack....

I've been powering through NG+, I'm up to Skeleton Lords/Chariot. The only thing I've had issue with are the damn Red phantoms(playing offline) on the way to the Chariot. They're just a giant, forever respawning pain. As for Lucatiel, man, they did buff her . She could have tanked The Sinner herself, as I was getting some nice club shots in.

So far I'm liking NG+. Tons of new phantoms, new gear, and update rings. Updated Serpent rings mean more farming later on. I can't see myself going NG++ or higher, don't care about getting things like Onion Bro's armor.
