Sleeping Dogs or XCOM

I hate to post one of these "pick A or B" threads, but I am really torn between Sleeping Dogs and XCOM. I have some trade credit and I am looking to pick one of these up. I have heard great things about both, but XCOM seems more critically acclaimed than SD. But I get great feedback on these forums, so I thought I would pose the question to you all. Which would you get if you had 60 to spend?

I haven't played xcom, but Sleeping Dogs is one of the true hidden gems from last year. Amazing game.

Had a good time with the Sleeping Dogs demo. Gonna download the XCOM demo and compare the two. The vids on the net look awesome...

The demo doesn't do XCOM justice, because it is a scripted tutorial that you really can't do much with. I haven't played Sleeping Dogs (heard it was pretty good though) but XCOM was my GoTY for last year. I loved the game.

I you like the thought of a game of Chess with shotguns, grenades and lasers get Xcom!

The demo doesn't do XCOM justice, because it is a scripted tutorial that you really can't do much with. I haven't played Sleeping Dogs (heard it was pretty good though) but XCOM was my GoTY for last year. I loved the game.

XCOM for sure. Simply because once your entire social life is destroyed due to the single player; The crazy addictive multiplayer awaits.

Sleeping Dogs hands down. One of the top games last year for many people.

I have yet to play sleeping dogs, but the single player of Xcom did keep me hook for about a week. I have yet to finish the gamedue to the fact I always ended up making the same mistakes, but I have to say with xcom great single player replay value is there

it comes down to the type of game you prefer. If you want a strategy game get XCOM, if you want an action open world game get Sleeping Dogs.

You can't go wrong with either game I have them both and if you told me I had to choose just one I don't think I could.

I've been playing Xcom for the past week and a half and without a doubt it is my favorite game of 2012. I have yet to play Sleeping Dogs, but it looks as if I need to.

Shoot. After talking to a friend, I think I need to throw Dishonored into the mix too. Leaning towards Sleeping Dogs or Dishonored actually.

Started Sleeping dogs last night and its already passed the only test that really matters and that I didn't wanna turn it off. I only played 2 missions but Im loving it so far the only small gripe so far is its hard to read subtitles at times. But the gameplay and fighting I think Im gonna like more then batman games. I think all the objects around that you can use makes the fighting fun. Also it looks like the story is gonna be a good one

I just started XCOM and so far its awesome. I cannot wait to really sit down for a few hours and get into it.

I love strategy games, especially RTS games. Isn't XCom a turn based strategy game? Just don't understand how that can be so much fun when compared to real time games. Are the guys that are into XCom players of previous XCom titles as well? Is there another draw other than the turn based strategy that I'm missing to the game?
