My last play thru was the first time I completed the game with both expansions. My total playtime was right at 345 hours at the end of Blood and Wine. I think anyway. Its been a month or so since I played. After playing it 3 times back to back I need a little break but about ready to jump back in.

I'm at a little over 120 hours and on the last missions. I've finished everything else, except for the Missing Patrol mission that glitched and I can't finish. It's stuck at "take a trophy." Also, haven't touched the ones involving Gwent. I'm just not into that. I don't really read the books and stuff, but just the other night, I realized that you can hover over locations on the map and it will bring up a backstory on the place. I'll have to go look at all of those. That's why I was wondering if you had to rediscover them on New Game Plus. If so, I'd just wait and do it as I find each place.

Finished the story last night. What an incredible ride! Now, I have both "Hearts of Stone" and "Blood and Wine" to go through. Then, it's off to New Game Plus. Checked it out after finishing just out of curiosity and all of the locations have disappeared from the map, so I get to discover everything all over again.

I finish the main story tonight.

I can easily say that this was one of the best games I have ever played. It takes a lot for a video game to pull me into its world but this game surpassed that.

            Hi guys

I think I'm going to purchase the expansion packs sometime this weekend, just curious which one I need first if I decide to only get one of them right now?

Also, do the packs add more to the story or just quests? And do I still keep all my stuff I have purchased and unlocked?

            Thanks guys

You need to play Hearts of Stone first if you are going to get only one. Blood and Wine is kind of the end of the story and kind of wraps things up. Every CDPR does adds to the story of this world.

Yes you keep all of your stuff. Hearts of Stone you could actually play during the main story if you wanted. Just make sure you keep playing your original game and then just follow the missions to start the quest just like you would any other.

Sorry I received your PM but things have been crazy lately and I just simply forgot. Hope you continue to have fun with this game.

Probably be cheaper to go expansion pass route right?

Should I actually finish all the side quests before getting the expansions? The main quests are done.

Yes it is cheaper to go the expansion pass route. There is no real need to finish everything before the getting into the expansions as you can always come back. Or save them to do on the next play thru.

I don't think you can get the expansion pass, anymore. I tried and it said it was unavailable.

Hmmm. I tried it on PSN and it wouldn't work for me. I just bought 'em both separately. That was last Thursday, I think.

Yeah since the Game of The Year edition or whatever its called came out. People have had trouble getting just the expansions on PS4. A few of my friends have had the same issue.

The problem is if you have already played the main game that you purchased by itself, then buy the Collected edition, the save files are not compatible so you have to start completely over. (Just in case some of you don't know that yet, who are just getting into the game.)

Yeah I noticed that also with th expansion pass, said it was no longer available. I will do what you did and just buy both separate.

Sorry to bother with another question guys

When I got the witcher 3 my wife was sweet enough to pick up the strategy guide for me when she saw it at the bookstore. It's only for the base game though, came in handy for spots I was stumped on.

would you guys know of any good sites that would have hints to get out of spots I may get stuck on with the expansion packs
