I've been watching all the gameplay videos on YouTube. It's still a toss up for me right now.

Are they actually doing stealth gameplay?

I'm on the fence but not because of reviews, this wasn't on my radar at all as I've never played any game in the series before. However, TotalBiscuit's impressions have me leaning toward a purchase.

I watched Totalbiscuit's video, but the stealth seemed boring to me. The areas seem too narrow to make stealth seem any fun. No room to move and trying to avoid guards in a tight space doesn't seem very fun.

I prefer the older Thief games or Dishonored, which give you much bigger sandboxes to work with and ways to attack the situation. Having narrow alleys to walk down while avoiding guards 2 feet away doesn't leave much room for ingenuity.

Yeah the premise for the game is intriguing and caught my attention months ago when I first heard about it but watching the gameplay videos on the PS4 have started to worry me. The biggest issue Ive noticed is the AI is really poor and while its a stealth style game like you said Sandman there seems to be little room for ingenuity in regards to how to attack every goal as the game pretty much forces you down a certain path regardless.

Just picked up my pre-ordered copy of Thief that I got in a trade up deal for my PS4 when traded in PS3 and its games. Never any of the previous Thief games and been seeing some very mixed reviews on this copy, will give it a go either tonight or tomorrow and see just how good it is or a flop.

I have never played a Thief game before (or heard of one) but have played about an hour of this one so far and I like it. It is different than any game I have ever played before, and while sometimes it sucks that you can't use the bow or rope whenever you want, that is a minor issue for me. Load screens sometimes get annoying but they are not as bad as the reviews made them out to be. So far I am enjoying this game.

I have never played any version of these games. I did watch a couple of gameplay videos on YouTube, but really just waiting on the feedback here to see if it's a buy or a rental.

You should grab the earlier games. They are pretty cheap on STEAM. Very fun if you like the stealth stuff.

I was only able to get about 30 min in last night. I'm leaving work early today so I should be able to get a few hours in this evening

Back to playing and man am I struggling. Not complaining but enjoying the struggle.

Having a good time trying to figure out ways to stay undetected is pretty cool. Only about 45 min in and I cool with my purchase

Thief

Hot dang I'm stuck lol. Im stuck at "Move through the garden"

Gotta remember to be patient.

To add to this after another half hour in. I didn't play any of the prior Thief games but I can tell this is gonna be a game that I am gonna enjoy.

I've always enjoyed any type of game that has a stealth environment. Games that make you take the time to think before the next move. This game gives me that rush/feel.

It may not be for all or most but for me it's a wonderful change of pace from the norm.

Finally have a day off, have this installed. I was going to get it on the PS4, but got a deal for it for only $35 for the master thief edition on GMG, so I had to bite on that for the PC edition. I can play it on the max settings with a GTX 670 for what it's worth to people and the benchmark spit out an average of 45 FPS.

I'm still in the opening tutorial, I might spring to connect my xbox controller before I get too far, but I want to get some cleaning done before I sit down and game, I'll give some impressions.

Reviews have me discouraged somewhat, as I had really high hopes for this game but I only read one and stopped, so as to not go into the game with negative vibes.
