My thoughts are mixed so far, maybe because I have never played a game like this before. But I do not think it is as bad as the reviews are saying it is.

Re: Thief
I'm liking this game a lot. Finished the prologue and first chapter.
I can see some of the complaints but so far I think it's much ado about nothing. Some ledges you can't jump off because there's no point to do so. Some things you can't climb bc why would you? I think the game design makes the right common sense choices.
And while the game is linear in goals, you can still find at least two ways to get to and achieve anything.
For example, you are told to pick up an item. Fine. But you can either find a way through the front door it's located and get to it quickly - though there are numerous guards by the entrance - or you can find an underground tunnel with no guards and take a longer path to the item.
It's up to you. So far I haven't had to get into a fighting match with anyone. I did turn off Focus. I prefer having to sneak through and not know who's in a room.

Re: Thief
That was always my goal in Dishonored and really any stealth oriented game was to get through the level with as little confrontation as possible.
Of course Dishonored through that out the window with the last act of the game.

Re: Thief
Thing is per metacritic on PS4 the positive reviews outnumber the negative and mixed reviews combined. I think people just see a few bad reviews and immediately focus on those and not the positive ones. Same thing happened to Alpha Protocol, it's a shame really.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

Re: Thief
I picked this game up along with a pair of Gold Headphones. I think the game is pretty good, first time playing a true stealth game in awhile. I think it's pretty good, the reviews I read I feel overstate the downsides of the game. I would say if you have the computer version this is a pass or wait for price drop, but if your into stealth heavy games this is a solid addition
The Gold headsets are great, first time using a set of gaming headsets and the sound is amazing IMO

Re: Thief
Anyone here get this for the xbox 360 or ps3? Would like to hear impressions on those versions as I dont have a next gen console yet.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Thief
Never played Dishonored so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me.

Re: Thief
Took the plunge..
I played the living hell out of Thief: Deadly Shadows on the Xbox, so naturally, this was on my radar.
I'm all about doing my damnedest to put it on the hardest difficulty and not get spotted, ever.
Hopefully it takes a while to beat the game.Comment

Re: Thief
I remember reading, somewhere, that development on Thief started around 2009/10. So this it's not a "truly" next-gen game in terms of taking advantage of everything the systems have to offer.Comment
