I agree with others that it wouldn't make sense if they went with 2 year cycles with the big name sports titles but it would be VERY interesting if they did. Face it, the major complaint that people have about EA sports is that the games are basically the same with just a graphics enhancement here and there and a roster update.
By going in 2 year cycles they'd be able to build upon the gameplay issues in the previous games, make a huge graphical leap, build upon features like Franchise and hopefully better beta testing. There would also be a bigger sense of anticipation. In the 1960s the Bond films were done yearly and while they were highly anticipated people often complained that they were pretty derivative which is the complaint that EA gets with the big sports titles.
Another thing just came to mind....I see a lot of people wanting to export their franchises in the previous year's games but they can't well with a 2 year cycle they can keep their Franchises going AND get a roster update!
Of course I don't think this'll happen but maybe a game like Madden needs a year off....The core gameplay is essentially the same from '01 but the Franchise part is completely upgraded. Imagine 2 full years for the Madden ppl to change the gameplay a bit and bring it up to speed with ESPN?
