    Re: Titanfall (Xbox One/360/PC)

I'm just curious, whats a great, re-playable shooter for you guys who are saying you're bored with Titanfall?

Would you like another Battlefield game, a series that hasn't made a change to the formula in multiple iterations, and is actually getting worse with each new release. Maybe we'll all get lucky and they'll release another incomplete product next time around. That'll be great.

How about Call of Duty? Possibly the laggiest FPS on the planet, and its only getting worse with each version. The guys left at (what was formerly)Infinity Ward are so bad at their job they weren't brought along to Respawn. Think about that for a few minutes.

I think whats turning people off towards Titanfall is that it has the largest skill gap between the good and bad players in a shooter in a really long time. Other than the fact that you're going to eventually receive the titan, the game isn't going to do anything else to hold your hand and make sure you get a few kills here and there. You have to work together with your teammates, and earn your victories, which is a major change from other recent shooters.

Just to clarify, your incentive to prestige in CoD is to lock all your items again, but then you'll have access to some of them permanently. Did I read this wrong? lol

I took a week off and have been playing every chance I have gotten the last few days. I'm hoping this is one of those games that I will keep installed for years (or until Titanfall 2) kind of like Civ. Games that just keep calling me back.

See it's different for me. I did not play FPS a lot on 360 after Mass Effect and these same guys that did COD. I had Battlefield 4 for X1 but never got the hang of the vehicles. I've been playing Titanfall nonstop everyday. Now I just discovered that advancing from one gen to the next is not that easy actually. I'm at the end of gen 2 and cannot go to 3 until I have a certain amount of kills with 40mm cannon and a certain amount of kills with Eva 8. This is why everyone is using eva 8. They can't advance to the next generation without meeting those challenges.

The match making on PC is driving me away. It is flat out terrible! I'm honestly not sure if the player base has fallen off that much or if the making making is just that bad. I can sit in the lobby 5 mins with the damn little spinning icon "0 players found". Then when i do finally find enough players one entire side is gen 3's or 4's while the other side is guys who have not even hit gen level 1 yet. They then get slaughtered and everyone on one side leaves, only to get stuck back in the lobby another 5 min trying to find players.

I just got finished playing for about a hour and got so sick of this, I'm going search Steam for something to buy/play. Matching making is driving me away FAST!

In cod you get a token every time you prestige. So you can unlock a item permanently every time you prestige. So I found myself replaying just to prestige so I could eventually have all my favorite guns and perks permanently unlocked. There is literally no reason to want to prestige in Titanfall. Except to have the gen logo near your name.

What would make you want to prestige in COD..?

If your whole thing is to "eventually have all my favorite guns and perks permanently unlocked" you should just not prestige at all and you have everything?

Idk, maybe I'm missing something? Serious question.

I literally just explained what kept me playing cod when I used to play it.

                  That's good, buddy.

I'm saying once you get the max level it'd all be unlocked.

You are saying the "incentive" is to have something permanently unlocked.

You would already have it unlocked if you didn't prestige so I don't see how it would be any different than just staying at the max level. Everything would already be unlocked for you.

Point being, it's not like "Oh, you only get this weapon once you his prestige level 3" so I don't follow the logic.

What is the point of playing if I'm just going to stay maxed out? I want replay value.

Its pretty straightforward. In Titanfall, regenerating to get different icons doesn't provide replay value. In CoD, prestiging to get different icons provides tons of replay value. Come on man, keep up.
