Maybe garbage was too strong of a word, but these characters aren't all that interesting to me so far. Maybe it picks up as I get deeper into the game.

I agree with you. The voice acting is some of the worst I have heard in recent memory too. I didnt find the voice actor nearly this bad when he was in Bioshock infinite. Still the gameplay is pretty fun.

Anybody know of use for all these flares I pick up from the cargo drops. Are you supposed to drop them when you're running for your life at night or something?
I've got like 50 of them.

They are basically portable safe spots. They are UV flares. I use them when I am trying to pick a lock at night. They are useful as well when running away from....well everything.

Another good use is crowd control but they don't burn long so be careful.

Yeah I have an issue with flares too. Tried to use them while lock picking in solo play and they did nothing.

I used them during the day. Must be the issue.

Yes, sorry should have been more clear. The UV flares only bother the night walkers. They are useless during the day because everything is covered in daylight UV.

A small accomplishment in creativity. I switched on the power supply to this electric pad and threw firecrackers on it. The zombies ignorantly walked into their electrocution.

There's a trophy for electrocuting 5 zombies simultaneously. The back of my brain has been formulating a plan similar to this to accomplish that.

Haha. That is funny. 3 of my buddies just picked this up. I was half way through the story but I'm starting over with them. Getting my money's worth for sure.

Not sure how exactly, but a audio file bugged and attached to my save somehow. Kyle screams "Holy ****!" first thing when it finishes loading the world. Everytime. Been happening for days now.

He eventually stopped for me.

I just cannot get into this game. I think I may be burnt out on open world games right now. The story isn't good enough to be interesting by itself, and I'm sick of doing all these stupid errand boy side missions. Like climbing a tower for crayons...
I wish they would at least have some of these people go with you on these side missions

I hear ya.... I think its a fun game, but it is eventually a forgettable experience for me. It gets played now because its the most interesting game from a mix of lackluster titles and last gen gameplay experiences.
