I got the gold edition because I am assuming this is a game I will be putting a lot of time into. I could certainly be wrong, but I'm hoping. Should replace Destiny as my primary if it holds its ground. Plus I have GCU and it only costs me ~$20 more than if I was just buying the game at normal price. And all them points.

Hopefully get to play the beta this time around. No trips currently planned for next weekend.

Yeah it is a good question and something I was hoping to discuss with you and the fellas as launch got closer. For awhile I was thinking it would be pointless to go into the DZ before lvl 30 but it may be nice to mix it in every few levels at a certain point? Not sure how yall feel

Yeah. You can gain DZ experience just from PvE so even if your loot never made it out your time spent in there would still be worthwhile. Just pick off the smaller NPC groups if you're solo, or find a group for the more dangerous ones (cleaners etc). And then there's supporting other people's extractions which can be pretty easy XP if some fool tries to go solo rogue with 10 people around (as long as you can get a shot on them)

I'm probably not going to worry seriously about actually getting loot out of DZ until hitting max level in story mode and have a good collection of perks and whatnot.

If you're in the same "instance" I guess you could call it, you'll see them in actual gameplay. If you're in different instances, you can still see their location on the map and minimap in real time and, if they aren't private or in a full crew already, should have an option to join them.

Took me a bit to figure out why friends were running all over the map but I couldn't actually see them.

It's very easy. You click start, bring up the menu by clicking in R3 stick, then it shows your friends, just click on their name and JOIN or INVITE them to yours.

I joined DirtyJerz's game when he had just started and he didn't really know that was possible, he was like, huh? LOL...

Can someone tell me the main reason they are going with the Gold version of the game?

Speaking only for myself

Main reason is I am 100 percent certain I will be playing this game for at least a year. I enjoy it that much, I want to play all the content it offers. Might as well save on the season pass.

I hate to turn this into a "this vs another game" thread but I'm just being honest when I say this is the game I thought Destiny would be, for me, just talking my perspective. I love it. I feel it offers something for everyone and does so many things well and that's based just on the SMALL slice we were given in the beta.

Also people with the season pass get monthly exclusive content over people who dont.

Yeah I am going to do both. Like Bolt mentioned, if you dont do any darkzone until level 30 then you be level 1 dark zone level and have a long ways to go on that. If you say get to level 12 or so then maybe fool around in the darkzone a little you could get to dark zone 12 and maybe upgrade your loot.

Like was mentioned its pretty easy and intuitive to joing other fireteams. Just dont expect to run into any of your friends in the Dark Zone without being in a Fireteam.

Dev team pretty much said they keep friends of friends out of the same servers to prevent Boosting and large groups of players from griefing the others.

Just turned on my PS4 and got the Beta update....1.646 GB.

Now it makes the wait that much more tedious knowing the Beta is ready to go but have to wait till next Friday....

Here are the full patch notes and fixes for The Division's upcoming Open Beta <hgroup> Lots of changes

We already know that The Division is getting another beta on February 18 - 21 for Xbox One, and starting a day later for PS4 and PC. This time, players won't have to do anything to access it, since it will be open to everyone, a true stress test.

The beta client received an update today, and we were able to get a full list of all the changes that are coming to the open beta, and most likely to the final game.


We also get a glimpse at the new story mission we get to play, as well as the new Tech Wing that's available to upgrade:
New Mission Available to play, Subway Morgue:

• Encounter a new faction: The Cleaners
• Explore a Mass Grave while trying to restore power to the city.
• Rescue the missing Engineer, Paul Rhodes

Unlock an additional Wing in the Base of Operations:

• The first upgrade to the Tech Wing is now available
• A new skill can now be unlocked: The deployable turret

Numerous Dark Zone updates and improvements:

• New High End weapons available in the Dark Zone
• Refresh rate on Dark Zone chests has been greatly reduced
• Non-player enemies in the Dark Zone have been significantly increased in number
• Non-player enemies in the Dark Zone have been buffed slightly
• The Manhunt Timer now pauses instead of refreshing while in combat as a level 5 Rogue
• The Reward for surviving as a Rogue Agent has been increased to 1.5x the kill bounty
• The Health Bar for Agents in the Dark Zone now only turns red when they actually become Rogue
• A new warning icon has been added to indicate an Agent who has shot another player but has not done enough damage to go Rogue
• Dark Zone experience leveling curve has been adjusted slightly
• Disabled the option to transfer Dark Zone brackets as a Rogue (This prevents players using Bracket Transfer as a means to escape after becoming Rogue)
• Removed some ropes that allowed players to reach areas that gave them an unfair advantage

Other changes

• New Ubisoft Club Action available for participating in the Open Beta unlocking an exclusive reward in-game
• New and improved Tutorial Video
• Tutorial video is now available to view from t he Character Select Screen
• Fixed two bugs that allowed players to become invisible to other players
• Fixed an exploit with Ballistic Shield Skill that allowed players to become invincible
• Cheat Detection and Prevention additions and updates
• Fixed mismatch of stats that occured occasionally between Vendor Inventory and Player Inventory when item purchased
• Adjusted player movement speed while running with a grenade in hand
• Fixed a bug that sometimes caused other player's name and health bar to not be visible in the Dark Zone
• Fixed some Weapon Mods that resulted in incorrect stat values when equipped
• Fixed some weapons that didn't appear as Contaminated when obtained in the Dark Zone
• Fixed a bug with the Reward Claims Vendor that caused stacks of consumables to be decreased under specific circumstances
• Fixed a bug with stats display not updating when browing Vendor Inventories
• Fixed a bug that caused contiuous vibration under very specific conditions
• Fixed a very rare bug that prevented players from being able to fire or switch their weapons
• Added mission Dialogue lines in Missing Persons: Heather Lau Side Mission
• Several environment fixes to prevent falling through world issues in specific places
• Multiple stability fixes (23 unique crashes fixed)
• Server optimizations and improvements (players will receive less connection errors now)
• Multiple localization fixes and improvements
• Additional polish & bug fixes too numerous to mention!
