This so much. Like I've compared it to so many times, I see so many similarities in this and Diablo. (I can't make comparisons to Destiny or Borderlands as I haven't played them). If you're underleveled (or underequipped) in either game killing even normal enemies can feel like quite the chore. Those numbers above an enemy's head are there for a reason, and unless you've got friends with you you would be much better served, staying clear of NPC's 4 or 5 levels higher than you.

This marriage between a third-person-shooter and an stat-based RPG is one of the more unique gaming experiences I've had in a long time.

^ Yup, if you're rolling solo, then you better enjoy side missions and encounters like I (and I assume you) do. Make your way through those and you'll be leveled up enough to take on main missions. Take on main missions without exploring everything and leveling up and finding better gear? Good luck

No, but matchmaking is pretty seamless from the few times I've tried. Once you vet to a mission you have the option to change difficulty and access matchmaking. Every time I've tried it's flawlessly put me in a mission w 3 other people relatively quickly.

You also have the option of just hitting the matchmaking button again if one of them drops.

Yes. This. Yes. I love the bucket sponge and different levels of the enimes. I suck at twitch shooters and I agree it would be very boring if everyone would drop because of headshots.

I've spent so much time roaming around NY looking for the side missions and supplies. Don't even get me started on crafting, I spent 2 hours just looking for resources to help craft items.

Wow. Got to say... the game is beautiful. Looks incredible. Has the classic tom clancy game feel, with the twist of an rpg type game. Very cool. I only got as far as being about to go to Manhattan... that little seige on the cop station was a blast to play through. The strength of enemies was a surprise to me too. Only got myself up to level three. I was hoping for more time to play tonight, but that 2.5 GB update once it finished installing sucked up most of my free time tonight. Ugh.

That being said... wow, and I overwhelmed. I didn't play the beta or anything at all. I hadn't followed anything about this title either really because of it's online component, and Destiny didn't do much for me with that side of the game either. However, I can see myself being more into this.

Few things maybe some of you can help me out with...

                - can I switch to a first person view at all? Tried looking in options, but no luck
                - where are some good spots to look for weapons/gear etc. Is it always marked when you come near it, or is there another trick?
                - What's a good way to level up a bit here to make things a bit easier on myself?
                - what are just some general tips for getting alot of enjoyment from this. I'm afraid I wont catch on enough, and give up on it like I did destiny.

any tips I can get would be great. Enjoying it so far though even when flying solo so far.

Was gonna wait after the issues people were having, but I caved and picked this up tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to dive in tomorrow.

                      Re: The Division (Xbone/PS4/PC)

Have you guys ever seen gun stats matter more than they do in this game? Again I have that shooting range so it's really easy for me to see how each one behaves. But since enemies have so much HP in this game you have to really control recoil and make every shot count. If your AR is missing after the first 5 shots due to recoil it might not be worth using over an SMG that you can full-auto and put every shot into an enemy's chest. And that single-shot rifle that does insane headshot damage might not be worth it if you can't, you know, hit the head.

I've kind of changed my stance on those single-shot rifles being the most powerful guns like I thought in the beta. The game is more balanced than that.

It's a security wing upgrade (I forget which one and I'm in the middle of a Madden draft right now). You need to complete a blue shield mission - I think it's the Lincoln Tunnel one - to open the wing and then unlock the automatic first upgrade plus the one that actually unlocks the range (you may need to do an extra side encounter for a few more security wing supplies). The range itself is a perk - it shows up near the bottom of the list of security wing upgrades.

Finally figured out that the number under your ammo box is the number of bullets in the clip of your secondary weapon.

Do you guys know how coop progress works? For example, if I'm in my buddies world and we complete a side quest that neither of us have done, when I return to my game, is the quest compete for me as well?
