Love this game, always excited when a new expansion drops.

433 hour and counting, and a buddy of mine has over 1500 hours

Really wish I could give these game a a fair shake.

I have pretty much tried all of them (Victoria, CK, HOI, etc..) but ADD sets in as I get so overwhelmed that I eventually just stop playing. I don't think I've put in 2 hours on any of them.

Yet they are games I feel are right up my alley..
I just don't get it sometimes what's wrong with me..

If you're into Japanese culture, Sengoku is like a lite version of CKII. Don't get me wrong, you'll still have to learn it, but its a lot easier to pick up. I'd be willing to teach you Sengoku in a mp game.

Dropped some more cash into this last night to get fully updated on the expansions. Think there were 2 I still hadn't purchased. Messed around with Castile just to get used to all the new game mechanics together - and to get back up to speed with everything in general, it's been awhile.

            Sucked back in!

Dammit - I was a couple days early.

All the DLC was on sale when I looked last night. If anyone was still on the fence about getting it, now's the time.

                  Re: Europa Universalis IV

They released yet another expansion a couple weeks ago. 3 years later and they're still releasing new content/tweaking game balance.

Currently playing a Florence > Tuscany > Italy save.

It's been a really weird one. Portugal got a PU over England and integrated. So Portugal controls a ton of trade in Western Europe and only has one true colonial rival, Spain. France is big, but not its usual wrecking ball self. Provence has actually risen to the point where France can't beat them in a war because of how big they've gotten plus allies.

I'm allied with a gigantic Austria, who is not the HRE emporer and the HRE is in shambles. Also allied with Spain, but that's going to have to change since they got all of southern Italy when they integrated Naples. My next move is to finish off the Venetians by finally taking Venice and solidifying my power in both the Italian trade nodes (already have Genoa). After that, I think I need to work on breaking the Spain/Portugal friendship so I can push the Spaniards off my rightful Italian lands. Could be a tough one, but it's really my only option. I have zero desire to fight the Austrians in the mountains.

Oh, and I've already been dragged into one war where it was basically Europe vs. the Ottomans. That's going to be an annoyance every 10 years or so until they're finally battered back enough.

First time playing in Italy and it has definitely been interesting.

I really need to get into this game. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time justifying sinking all the money needed to purchase the myriad expansion packs this game has. I'll get around to it someday. I love HOI III/IV, Victoria II, etc.

Same. My main thing is not having the time to learn the game to enjoyment. For now I'm just banging around with Stellaris.

Keep checking, all but the most current expansion will go on sale every once in awhile. When they go on sale, you can get the base and all the previous DLC for around $60.

The other option if you don't want to wait for that is to get base and Art of War/Common Sense. Those two are the expansions that you pretty much have to get. Here's a great explanation and discussion regarding expansions. https://www.reddit.com/r/eu4/comment...people_new_to/
