The newest automatic title update for GTA Online is now available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. As mentioned previously, this update addresses some residual issues where occasionally people's vehicles or vehicle modifications were disappearing due to a cloud save failure - as well as the other fixes mentioned below:

Built in measures to prevent users from losing their progress when there is a cloud outage
Built in a number of measures to protect players’ cash balances even if there are network problems
Fixed an issue where on rare occasions during network problems the player could lose their Online vehicle or mods after exiting GTA Online

Ok because there are times I get paid the full amount and I have already done the mission before in the past. I know the other stuff like races and survival pays full amount

You get paid full amount the first time you do that mission on that difficulty. So you can receive the full amount 3 times, once for for each difficulty.

As an older gamer and never an online gamer can someone shed some light on GTA online? I never really understood it in RDR and don't in GTA.

Do I just go around playing mini-games and doing whatever I feel like? Do you need a headset to be able to communicate with other people? Do you create a crew offline (like at OS) and then pick a time to all go online at the same time? I feel so old and out of it when it comes to this stuff.

If you didn't like RDR you probably won't enjoy GTAO. Not entirely the same thing, but pretty close. I think they actually made jumping into missions, races, etc easier with GTAO, and that made it more fun IMO. Pretty easy to join friends, clan members, etc as well.

You just run around and can do missions, races, mess around with friends, or pretty much whatever you want. It's GTA after all. A headset helps if you're with friends, as with most games. But you don't need it if playing with randoms. I only use it when friends are online. You can jump online whenever, don't need friends to join at the same time, but you can join up with friends and jump from game to game if you'd like. Also, when you first start up online it automatically puts you into the game world where friends already are. I've had numerous friends on at a time, and it always puts me into games with friends I actually play with regularly.

I know im not the only one waiting for the first DLC that adds actually game modes to play (Cop n Crooks, Etc) to release. Same with Heists.

just played GTA online for the 1st time today and i have to admit, I'm glad i did. I loved GTA IV and Red dead but for some reason V got stale really quick. There is something about the single player that just doesn't hold my interest. (maybe its the whole 3 protagonist thing). I played about 2 hours of GTA V online and absolutely loved it. It felt like GTA. This mode saved the game for me

I think my internet connection is ruining racing for me. I'll have AI cars just start speeding out of no where right into as if I was lagging and they were farther back on my screen then it lags and all of a sudden they are right in front of me knocking me off course.

Usually once a race my car freezes for a couple of seconds when there are human cars by me then after it unfreezes those cars are magically a couple seconds ahead of me. Last race that happened and there were 4 of us right next to each other with 3 turns to go in the race and my screen froze then when it unfroze they were all 2 seconds from the finish line battling it out while I was a good 5-10 seconds behind them.

Anyone have this or is it all my internet connection?

lag isn't going to have anything to do with racing against Ai. Sounds like to me you're not doing the boost start off the line. Gun the gas just as GO hits. Don't hold down gas during the countdown.

The rest of your post does sound like lag might be getting ya though.

He's not racing the AI, I think he's referring to the traffic AI
