Re: Grand Theft Auto V Online

Crews are pointless online to me if you cant do crew vs crew matches to get your Crew actual wins. Gta v lacks game modes(competitive player vs player) online to me.. Hopefully they update that. But if anyone loves free rome, this game is for you.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Online

So with Gold being free this weekend I thought it would be the perfect time to try Online and see if it's worthy of me renewing my membership.

Friday - Sign in, create my character then I'm stuck at the screen where you're in the parking lot waiting for people to join. I leave it at this screen for about 30 min, and nothing.

Saturday - I finally get a chance to play, luckily my guy was saved from Friday, so I immediately get in the tutorial race. I complete the first mission and managed to change clothes and rob a bank. Seemed fun, another player killed me when I rammed him with my truck.

Sunday - I start it up, and it gives me the dreaded cloud server error. I didn't read up on it, so I just proceeded. I got to the character creation screen, then I backed out. Turned it off and back on and nothing. So I created a new guy. Did everything and got up to the first mission with Simeon.

Needless to say it's buggy, but it was definitely fun playing. I just bought a 12 month for $38.99, so I'm down to join a real crew now for more madness.

How do I join the crew in the game? When I check the social club I am in the crew but in the game it shows me not being in it.

I dont think you can say replay was higher priority. It obviously is not.

Was the first thing taken out on the first online patch. Yes this was a higher priority. Please try again with actually disputing any of my actual points.

Your attempts are pitiful seeing as I didn't use this. I am simply stating that people have lost characters and money that they put hard time into getting. Rockstar gives this people absolutely no compensation and instead tries making it even more difficult to get the money they lost back.

I love how you are simply attacking with "people shouldn't have that much money/unlocks". I have spent about 48 hours since day 2 of launch (which accounts to roughly just over a week at the pace most people play, I've played about 12 hours a day with one or two of those days being on 5 or 6 hours) so you can't tell me I haven't gotten everything by working for it.

If I lost all that work there is 1.) No compensation. 2.) No way to earn that back workout putting that much time into it (including stats, unlocks, money, etc) except for I can buy my money back.

Please tell me how this isn't a problem seeing as then instead of working to build on what I have (seeing as I can net about 50k with 4-6 hours of races, Deathmatchs, and other activities) you instead have to grind to even get back to where you were.

So even though I don't care to use the given missions as I have my own method of making money (and I have not unlocked everything in that time I still can't afford 90% of the cars, helicopters, etc and I could barely afford my newly unlocked weapon after buying a house, and bullet proof tires and second tier Armor for 2 of my cars) some people can't use my method and can't repay missions and fall even further behind. So like I said I'm not disagreeing with you that I shouldn't be able to buy and unlock everything right away.

I am however saying don't let my character get wiped (and a handful of others) have it be YOUR fault (they didn't have their servers corrected at launch or even now), and tell me too bad gotta earn it all back. All the while trying to patch the ways that can help you make money and rank back quicker (which in reality still takes a lot if work).

            Just a tip for everyone.

If you are playing single player and want to join invites to Online missions make sure you connect online before accepting. If your Created Player is showing as a selectable player on the wheel you should be able to connect without issue. If not, connect to GTA online then go back to single player.

I kept seeing invites yesterday but I could not join them because I didn't log in. I finally joined up with HustlinOwl after logging into GTA online.

Rockstar Investing Loss of Characters, Items, Etc...: http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/...-in-GTA-Online

Question: My online character, rank, items, apartments, and/or cash are suddenly missing. How can I get them back?

Answer: We have received reports from some players who experienced losing characters, progress, items, and/or in-game cash during the first few days after release. We are working diligently to identify and correct the causes for these losses, as well as to establish how best to restore any lost progress and value. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information about this, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. You do not need to do anything else at this time.

Note: When the Rockstar Cloud Services are unavailable, you are given the option to still play online on disc-based content (rather than R* Cloud content). You are asked to confirm before entering Multiplayer whether you would like to play on a temporary character, without the ability to save. If you confirm this option, please note that none of your old characters will be available for that play session, and the temporary character you create will not be saved. If you want to make sure the characters you create are saved, you should not proceed into GTA Online when the R* Cloud Servers are unavailable. Even if the services come back up while you are playing on a temporary character, that temporary character will not save -- you would need to return to Single Player and re-enter GTA Online to load your non-temporary characters and resume playing with the ability to save progress.

Note: When exiting GTA Online, please pause the game and choose to return to Single Player. This will trigger a save and ensure that progress since the last auto-save is recorded. If you purchase items and immediately power the console off or exit through console system menus, those items may not be saved.
Note: Please do NOT use the “Retry” button after receiving the message “Rockstar Cloud Servers are unavailable” as this may result in loss of character data. If you are trying to access GTA Online and Rockstar Cloud Servers are unavailable, please exit to GTAV Story Mode and try entering GTA Online again through the Pause menu in Story Mode. We will be issuing a title update that will fix this issue as soon as possible.

Updated 10/6/13: We are continuing to investigate the causes of the lost progress and what can be done to minimize the impact until a permanent fix is in place. Also, we have not forgotten about the requests for restoration. We are in the process of determining the options for addressing the issues for those players who have been affected. Please stay tuned for further updates here.

What are good ways to get cash and JP early on?

I've tried just about everything and the most cash I got was on a job making a drug run for Gerald with a couple OS guys yesterday. Stealing cars for Customs seems like an easy way for a couple thousand and racing seems easy thus far.

Man, I'm tired of being kicked from servers for no ****ing reason at all.

Especially when I'm active and in the middle of doing something.

I hope Rockstar finds a way to fix this stupid bull ****.

When I got the cloud servers down message I backed out. But he was still deleted. I hope he comes back, i was starting to bond with him.. I am also no longer in the crew anymore, idk if that is just bc of the servers being down or if everything was truly erased. But I would love a invite again guys, PSN is Dboyswitten82.
                      Thanks.

I can't be the only one who finds the text in this game to be way too small when playing on a large screen. The reason I say large screen is because when watching someone else play on a smaller 32" screen the text was noticeably more legible.

I have the hardest time reading texts and mission details playing on the TV the 360 is hooked up to.
