Heck I think I am usually at around 14,000 feet and I never miss. I always use the bomber site view. Cut down to around 70% throttle as you close in on the target and bombs away! At 250-290 mph, you are going too fast. I am usually around 180-200 mph.

This.....even with my level 1 bombers, I am around 14,000 and hitting bases with no problems.

Ok guys help a War thunder brother out. I finally went and downloaded this on PC. Last night I hooked up the rudders and the flight stick. Jumped in the game and it told me to pick a country, I choose Brits since I love the Spitfire.

So after I pick a side it shows 3 bi-planes. I chose the Fury MK II and quickly jumped in a "arcade" match just to get my feet wet. I was surprised how good I did off the bat with 6 Kills 1 Death.

So coming from IL-2, I'm far more use to a realistic flight sim. So from here on out I'm going to choose the "realistic" setting, but here is where I need help.

There is buttons all over the place on the menu, I don't know what the hell I'm looking for. I saw upgrades pop up on the planes but didn't know how to apply them, plus I couldn't figure out where missions where. I just was flat out lost in the menus, and I'm not someone who normally gets lost, but this game has a very unfriendly menu system. Hell even the buttons are TINY!!!

If you guys could give me a hand on what I should be looking for in the menus, what I should be looking to do, or any other advice, please help me out

Also IL-2 Sturmovik game you played before is from the same company that did War Thunder, so your playing a somewhat new offering from Gaijin Entertainment.

The Spitfire Vb is a beautiful thing...
A killing machine with extremely lethal cannons. Not sure if I prefer it over the IIb yet, but probably will as I add more and more research and upgrades to it.

Oh, and the 4000 lb. bomb on the Wellington is super sweet too. Does more damage than the default payload with 10 bombs!

Yea, that screen pic is from the PC version. Not familiar. The PS4 screen is simple. Let me know how the sim/realistic battles were....I also get a kick out of some of the names I see on your end game screen. Yesterday, I got killed by "Little Piggy"

Quint, I have to take back that comment I made to you regarding taking your Spit on a landing in Domination. Here I am diving onto the airfield because my brain-dead teammates weren't grasping the idea of capturing it. Lost 3 planes doing it. 2 of them cut to shreds as I was landing.

Yeah it gets frustrating when you seem to be the only guy focused on the mission. I have singlehandedly won Domination missions by flying to unprotected air fields and landing numerous times in a single game. On the other hand I still sometimes crash when trying to land (usually simply chewing my propeller up in the process, like I did today) and other times I get ripped to shreds by enemies while taxiing on the runway. Highly frustrating. I don't really care for Domination missions (not much use for my bomber) and I am disappointed when they come up.

Getting closer to my 2nd level Wellington. Shouldn't be too much longer. Then I may go straight for the 3rd level or go for a Spit Mk IX, which will take a long time to research. I really want to get a Lancaster heavy bomber, but I am finding it more and more frustrating to fly fighters without cannons. I am tired of pumping endless rounds of machine gun bullets into enemies for what seems like little damage.

So the Brits are my favorites in Rank 2 because of the Spitfires. The Russians my most dominant team in my mission battles. That makes the Americans my most consistent. Since getting all teams into the 2nd level, I've played streaks. Meaning continued play in mission wins. At a clip of better than 57%, the American planes continue to give me more destruction points, kills and victory wins than any other teams. Now I may not always have a quality showing, but more times than not, we're upgrading and raking in mission points.

I loved the Dauntless. It's no wonder then that the Avenger (pic) would be especially loved. She proves herself as a bomber and a rescuer in my missions. Usually first in.

The Havoc offers me rockets and bombs as a bomber and the Airacobra, is a special plane that I just finished in my research and get to enjoy. Those who fly it knows how deadly she can be. She's already my favorite American plane.

The P-400 I'm still learning and the Hellcat is a holdover for the Panthers down the road.

So what does the American fleet offer me more than the others? The Medals Board.

Excellent work, my man! I have had very little time to play lately so all of my time has gone to Britain. I need to work on other countries for sure as I am not too far off from getting my BF-109. Have fun with that Airacobra. I hate facing those things or the P-400s/P-63s.

What sticks and rudders do you guys use?

I'm using this one, but I modded the spring and removed it. I like it much better since it gives much more precise adjustments.

I'm having some issues with my headtrack so I'm looking at the TrackIR5 right now. Going to grab one off e-bay in near future I believe if I can't get this on working like I want.

Also wanting to get a new stick in future which has separate throttle quad.
