I am looking forward to exploring the next 3 planets in my starting star system. Took off into space to see how that was and, wow, it was awesome!

Then went back down to the starting planet, hahaha. The other 3 are on the other side of it, and I plan on visiting the next one today. Hoping for water!

I would have done it yesterday, but I was enjoying the 4.00 update, and then Bound for a little bit.

Do you even have the game?

To be honest, I have no idea what were talking about anymore, and outside of space portals, none of that is in the game.

And I'd have to ask to trade copies if you've experienced enormous space battles and time cycles for planets.

That was a really dope moment in video gaming for me, and I was only meh about the game at that time.

Some have said the space battles are not as big as in the trailer, but one player has found a ~35-ship battle:

Or just get to a place that has it. Everyone's copy is the same procedurally generated algorithm.

I don't think people grasp how huge 18 quintillion planets are, in millions (billions?) of star systems, who knows how many galaxies.

It is hard to wrap the mind around when used to traditional sized games. It can almost give you a headache trying to expand and ponder on how large it is.

No, I haven't yet. But the point being is just because you haven't discovered it yet, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

And that is really one of the beauty's of this game. So many times we try to finish games in a day. I know, I watch my boys play games into the night to finish them. This game, you take your time, take a break, return eventually. I'm on a 2-day hiatus away from it so I can play U4, The Show, WT, and soon Madden! Yikes!

Precisely why I will be playing this for quite some time. I don't feel 'rushed'... and I can come and go, play long sessions, short ones, minute doses, etc..

May discover things others have, may never... a mystery, such is the universe.

Now I want to unlock the mysteries of the Stargates, which may take quite a while since I'm no Daniel Jackson.

We should start sharing pics of these towers/pillars and share them with OS. One I discovered looked so unique with it's linguistic writings, it made such an impression on me. Unfortunately, I picked up my loads and left. Now, I wonder if I can find it again and what did all that mean?

My starting planet the exact same Stargate looking one as the second pic on that link that had the 'Euclid Galaxy' in the pic. I believe I can find it again, it is huge. I will look later.

Is there a way to start completely over?

Big question, how in the world do you use the star map ? I left my home planet and went what I thought is one planet over and now I'd like to go back to my home planet and think I found it but can't set a travel point or have any clue to get there quicker similar to how I got to this planet one jump over.

On side note a big gripe is the menu/ui. I just can't get used to it and accustomed to them.

yeah, the star map is just horrible. I can't even find my starting system and it was just 1 planet away from the 2nd system i went to. It's like it vanished.

The UI in general doesn't seem good for PC, especially running higher or ultra-wide resolutions.

for starting over, it can be done.
Don't worry, while No Man's Sky doesn't have the in-game option to start anew, the workarounds are very easy.

In order to re-find my starting system, I scanned for discoveries and eventually found mine. Once I found it I set a way point and eventually got back to it. Hopefully that helps!
