Re: No Man's Sky
I try to do 3 or 4 walls each direction, so using 12-16 walls in total. I found that if you make the walls too small and too close to the eggs, when those things try to lunge and attack at you, parts of their heads will sometimes glitch through the wall and you might still get hit if you're right next to the wall. So I make a nice compound around the nest so I'm never right up against the wall.
I got to the point last night I was making the walls large enough to completely surround two, even three nests at the same time. Then it's just a matter of blasting a bunch of eggs, run to the next nest, blast a bunch of more eggs, run to the next nest and blast more eggs. I make one nest my designated "trigger the swarm" nest and wall off every single other one. I would like to wall off all the others as the same time, but you'd need over 1000-1500 carbon to do it.
I eventually got quick and good enough that I could completely wipe out three nests, around 16-18 larval cores total, in a single swarm spawn. I'd have all three nests of eggs attacked and cores collected before the swarm is subsiding message would show up on screen, taking no more than 30-60 seconds to collect them all.

Re: No Man's Sky
The square underground relics that you find in caves have a second element of cobalt. You get 1 giant cobalt rock every time you grab a relic. You can refine these rocks into ionised cobalt, each rock gives you 150 Ionised cobalt. When you scan the area look for the little yellow icon with the 3 lines in it, it's the same icon for the Humming eggsPlaystation Network:That70s_Gamer

Re: No Man's Sky
That's a great feeling when you know you've got a full weekend to game. Few and far between are those times nowadays, for me anyway.
Seems like every time I play NMS I can only sit down for 30 min or so. Really looking forward to giving this a nice, long session. Each time the game loads I'm excited to find and learn something new. I'm still ungracefully trudging through stuff, but loving every minute of it. Found and ancient ruin last night, which was new and exciting.
On a different note, I think I convinced my buddy to play. I'd imagine this game is even better with a friend.

I’ll try this out tonight. I could use some extra cash but I actually just got over 1m just by naturally playing the game. Ships are so expensive though. I’ll see how time consuming it is. I also saw a video of a guy just simply blasting an egg, Picking it up then hopping in the roof. Rinse, repeat until he had all of them. I might give that a shot too. I’m hoping farming can bring in the units.
Do you take the walls you made down after you get them or do the eggs come back?Comment

Hey Smooth Pancakes, seems Sean Murray knows all about your whispering egg tactic

Oh Jesus. I just realized after seeing that picture. It's even easier than I thought! I'm doing it backwards! Forget putting walls around all but one nest, put walls around a single nest! Trap all of the swarm inside that single walled off nest then you're free to run around the entire area surrounding the abandoned building and collect all the other nests.

Re: No Man's Sky
Pre-ordered this game a couple months before it came out because I was excited about the possibilities and wanted to support a different vision. Played a few times and enjoyed it but didn't LOVE it and eventually put it on the back burner and stopped following it.
After reading the last 10-15 pages of posts, I HAVE to get back in. Sounds like a completely different game. Seems overwhelming but it's been pretty cool reading people's adventures.PSN: JWGoNDComment

Re: No Man's Sky
Here's the walling off everything but one nest (two in this case) and then harvesting eggs inside the wall. I'm going to do a new video the next time I find another bunch of whispering eggs and do the opposite, wall off one entire nest of eggs, spawn the swarm inside that, and then harvest all the other eggs outside the walls.

Re: No Man's Sky
The new even easier method is confirmed. I put up 8 walls to seal off the final nest of eggs. The entire swarm spawns inside it and are trapped. I'm right now running around freely outside the abandoned building while the freshly spawned swarm are going nuts inside their wooden prison.
