Re: No Man's Sky
I'll do it because frankly I don't give a **** what you think of me.
Many of us think the games you get are stolen or illegally gotten somehow. There aren't a whole lot of other explanations for how you'd get a game as early as you always do. Because you have an eBay account doesn't make it any different than buying it out of some dude's trunk in a parking garage.
To us, it's not a great look for this community to be encouraging that sort of shadowy business just to get early screenshots or whatever the ****. And OS has this weird thing where simply having an account here will buy you limitless trust and put anyone above questions because community. Especially if they're providing a service. To me, if these games are illegal, then you're just doing what those hackers did when they stole all those celebrity nudes. You're providing an illegal service, but everybody encourages you because they're getting what they want and they're not the ones breaking the law.
Further, seeing you using OS on Reddit to justify your actions was infuriating. This is a good community and I mostly give a **** about its reputation. I don't want it's reputation to be the encouragement of potential thieves (even if it's secondhand theft). I feel like we're better than that.
This insecure lashing out is why you think you have a sterling reputation here. Because you throw a ****ing fit it anyone even implies you might be doing something wrong, so nobody ever bothers. Trust me, many people here don't think highly of what you do.
And I'm done.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
I'm speaking for my self. EG and jigglypuff are punks. Along with any of you who encourage their behavior. Trying to act all high and mighty, even when you've accepted a early copy before (EG). You are both chumps.

.
First of all, that Reddit community is absolute garbage. Complete and utter toxic ****. I couldn't care less what we represent over there because we are miles above their fanatical fanboy bull****.
Secondly, all you guys who have an issue with this stuff, in my opinion, are class textbook definition Haters. I know that word is censored due to cornball usage in the past, but I will spell it out. H a t e r s. This is some super typical self-absorbed bull**** we see all the time in America with people imposing their inflated sense of self-importance while just asserting that they know best and their morals and ethics are the gold standard and SCREW EVERYBODY else. Get over yourselves. You don't speak for me. You don't speak for OS. You aren't the elected officials or pillars of integrity and righteousness. Who do you think you are? Is Flight hurting anybody? Is Flight affecting you and your family?
Thirdly, please don't act like writing your post to flight was some impressive ordeal and feat of fortitude. This is the damn internet. For real.
Fourthly, one thing I don't understand is how you guys used the insanely idiotic reddit thread of "researched evidence" regarding the leaked copy as proof or indication that Flight is involved in stolen goods. That thread was made by delusional fanboys who absolutely crapped themselves when the ebay buyer listed gripes, concerns, and bugs he has experienced with the game. The Reddit sub went into CRISIS LOCKDOWN MODE and had to come up with a way to explain how a God Like Perfect Game, in their eyes, could possibly have any issues. That thread is honestly the worst thing I have read on the internet in years. Legit. No hyperbole. Next level, beyond comprehendable levels of awfulness. Read the content of that thread and tell me how it has ANYTHING to do with Camp.Last edited by The JareBear; 08-01-2016, 01:46 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

No Man's Sky
So we've got beef jerky talk, a horse pooping on a lady's head, phone numbers being posted, all out CIVAL WAR, and a Pokemon talking **** all in a thread about a space exploration video game.

Second, the idea that this website is holy or something and needs it's reputation protected is going way over board. If Camp has done anything wrong Steve can address him personally. This site drives me nuts sometimes with everyone trying to be mini mods and acting as though we are more important than we are. It's a freaking video game forum and getting a game early is a good thing.Comment

Re: No Man's Sky
My two cents.
I really just don't like the implications this has on the community. If the copies you get are stolen and you're just buying them from a thief and reselling them I think that gives OS a bad reputation as a site that turns a blind eye to this. And now that OS had its name and "10 year standing" brought out on reddit as a backup to your honesty and integrity on reddit it troubles me.
As a member who's given a lot to this board and even moderated it for awhile the idea that it could be associated with the shady practice is what concerns me most. To see this board jump to back you up is both encouraging as a community and troubling that we rush to support an alleged thief.
And for a little history before someone calls hypocrisy Yes I've bought games from you before. And yes that's when we would find them at retailers by doing legwork, searching stores a couple days before release and buying them from a retail location. I think that's different then buying something that fell off a truck two weeks before release on eBay, but maybe that's me.
I don't have any ill will against you flight, but I think you should maybe ask the people you buy these games from where they come from and how they got them, if only to ease your conscious if not the one of this community.
