Regardless of the criticism, and disappointment expressed by some, I still think (from what I've seen) this is an impressive release from a small team that didn't have huge financial resources in the beginning of their project.

I said it earlier in the thread, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this turns out to be like a Minecraft in terms of ongoing development. Like how the initial Minecraft beta (and even v1) releases had fairly barebones features, limited gameplay, and content, and gradually gained in all areas.

For a game like NMS, the retail release is the beginning of building a broader and robust user experience. Of course, that's if there is a player base that supports it.

That patch sounds insane. I'm starting to get more interested in buying this.

I also noticed a part in the patch that mentioned having pets? What's the deal with that?

I'm starting to feel the Hype now with those patch notes. I've been able to hold it off for the most part, but Space Exploration games (elite dangerous, starbound, etc) always find a way to get me.

Guess I'll find out what the word is on Tuesday.

I think the distasteful comment is that Harambe was the name of the gorilla that killed the little boy a couple of months ago, and was killed himself.

I'm guessing there is a different meaning in how it's being used here?
