    Re: Fallout 4

Loving the game, got about 9 hours in(mostly exploring). I'm getting the same feeling I got the first time playing 3, which is a very good thing. I'm in a very heart-pounding and entertaining predicament at the moment. Might contain minor spoilers about the location "Lynn Woods," so if you haven't been there and don't want to know what may happen, don't click the spoiler button below. Nothing story related, though.

      Re: Fallout 4

I started off just exploring some and then headed to diamond city to get a little more deeper into the story before I go off and do other stuff. I didn't know it was such a long way though and I came across some people that needed my help and now am doing stuff for them. So am just wondering how you guys are playing. Are you just building your settlements, exploring, or getting into the story more?

I'm just doing everything as it pops up. Side stuff then story. I'm not even at diamond city after what felt like 4 hours or so. Where is all the ammo? I'm constantly out of it.

Dude this is a survival type game.
Have to use ammo sparingly etc.. when you get it.

Having ammo issues? VATS is the answer.

Also couple tips I didn't see explained in any tutorials that newcomers might find helpful.

Hold down the pip boy button (circle) for a flashlight.

You can get close and hold X on certain things to physically pick them up and move them. Useful for looking under things like overturned boxes.

Yeah I get that. I know what type of game I bought. Doesn't answer my question though. Where do you find ammo? Just randomly anywhere? Can you craft it eventually?

Dumb question but how do you switch views on Xbox One? I'm stuck in 3rd person and nothing I do switched back to 1st person.

Going to take a while to get used to the dog. I play late in the evenings and it sounds like a rad roach is following me around. Makes me even more ancy/jumpy.

VATS is nice for ammo conservation, and the power armor is fun. Looking forward to eventually doing some city building.

Ok, installed and only put close to an hour in so far. The first thing I noticed was The Witcher 3, Batman, and Metal Gear kind of spoiled me as far as graphics and general player movement. Its one of those things where I didn't expect it to be noticeable but it really is.

Not too much of a big deal, and I don't think bethesda games are meant to be played in third person anyway. This is the first time since having the option in a game to switch views that I might go first person (I don't like first person by the way), and I think if you're going to have a third person mode available, try to get it on the level of the competition (character just seems to transition so stiff). Seems dated so I'm not initially impressed.

I'm thinking once I get into the meat of the game and start exploring and interacting it'll be good. Hell, I'm barely even out of the vault.
