    Re: Fallout 4

I was bored to tears the first hour or so of this game, but now that I'm a few hours in I'm starting to enjoy it a bit more. I'm surprised how rough around the edges it is, though. Graphically some stuff looks alright, but a lot of textures look really ****ty. The poor lip syncing is kind of disappointing too.

I have enjoyed the bandit encounters that I've had so far. Their dialogue is really cool and even though I'm playing on normal I've died several times. I figured out quickly that I need to save a lot in this game after making my way through some base and then coming around to corner and getting destroyed after running into a few more guys.

I just started putting a settlement together. Don't have any seeds for crops, so I guess I'll have to track some down. Just threw on Diamond Radio - very ****ing cool. Digging this a lot.

15 hours in and I'm really disappointed with the dialogue system. Fully voiced is nice, but not to the extent at which options and role playing have been greatly diminished. Mostly, your options basically consist of the following: yes, no, sarcastic, and info. That's it, and speech options are tied to just charisma. Dialogue is a hallmark of the series, but the way it's handle in Fallout 4 is poor. It's to far in the direction of watered down modern systems, and I feel a much better middle ground could've been struck between old and new.

Much like every other Bethesda game I've played, this game has it's hooks in deep. Up to 20 hours with no intention of slowing down. All of the complaints I'm reading are minor to me, as I'm just so sucked into the world.

I'm just glad I didn't give up on it to soon. A friend of mine kind of felt the same way I did about the game when he first started playing and he already traded it in lol. I was like, man give it a few more hours at least.

Heck I was just as excited and having just as much fun at beginning lol..

Just scavenging and roaming.. which I catch myself doing a lot even at the point I am now in the game.

At least you kept with it.

Built a fully functional 4 story barracks last night, complete with electricity, 21 beds, and multiple lookouts. The base I took over really is perfect from a defensive standpoint, just added a few defensive measures, crops, and electricity. Hope it grows fast as I will have 3 settlements that bring in income

I haven't looked into getting electricity anywhere yet. How do you hook up a generator?

Look at the generator and press triangle/y to "Attach Wire". Then again on the object you want to connect to.

Is there any tangible reason to build your defenses up at a settlement, or is it just a novelty? Without telling any story spoilers, am I ever going to need to defend one of my settlements?

If your defense is lower than your water + food the settlement may be attacked at some point.

This is pure speculation on my part, but it seems a lot of people have been complaining about not enough raids on your settlement so it may happen more frequently via patch down the road.

I actually just had one of my settlements attacked just now. Cool stuff.

Wonder if it's possible to lose a settlement/settlers to an attack?

Just had someone steal my power armor lmao. Woke up to gun shots from my turrets and one of my guards but i never found what they were shooting at. Walked back to the workshop and no power armor. I didnt even know that was possible! So if you dont want your power armor stolen, remember to remove the fusion core when you're not using it.

I love this game so much.

Found a legendary melee weapon just sitting on a table. Keep them eyes peeled. Stuff is everywhere.

I hope a mod comes out soon that improves the inventory management. Trying to compare guns and armor is such a hassle. All it really needs is a Compare button, and to group the armor by body parts instead of having it in 1 huge list.
