Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
While now we know the rest of the Season pass now.
Sucks that catwoman got pushed back in till November but knowing what is going to come out in the rest of the season pass kind of makes up for that. So we know we are getting 2 more story DLC besides SOI with catwoman and robin. I am sure they are both going to be 15 minutes lol. I was hoping for a forever batmobile skin. Sounds like we are not getting that but we are getting 5 more batmobile skins and 2 more race tracks. I wonder what the riddle batmobile skin is going to look like. We are getting 22 more AR maps 3 packs of 6 maps and we also get 4 more maps with 2 being from the catwoman stuff and 2 from the robin stuff. I wonder out of those 22 how many are combat and how many are predator. The SOI has 4 villains the leaked list was 6 so that kind of sucks that it is 2 less.
I was hoping SOI would be like 4 hours. With it being 4 villains and them being the most wanted type of thing I am thinking they will be around 30 minutes each so if that is so then that would be 2 hours. Now 2 hours is not bad and that would still be a lot longer then the other story stuff so not bad hopefully all 4 have real boss fights. Surprised we are getting the batman superman stuff but the batman superman suit looks a lot like one of the suit that is already in the game. With SOI being 4 villains how long do you guys think it will be?Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
What being the best game in the franchise? With all the talk about the season pass and the price and what not city and origins each got like 2 hours of story DLC. Knight got 5 DLC stories in robin, nightwing, catwoman, red hood, hardly that was 15 minutes each. That is a hour and 15 minutes. Batgirl was 45 minutes that is already 2 hours. If you do the side missions with batgirl that is another 45 minutes. Now you are up to 2 hours and 45 minutes. SOI is 4 villains that will be most likely be at least 30 minutes each that would be 2 hours for the 4 villains then. That is 4 hours and 45 minutes compared to the 2 hour city and origins story DLC.
Origins had like the most challenges with like 31. Knight looks like it is going to have around 83 challenges including the batmobile stuff. That is way more and even with all the talk about the batmobile it looks like around 50 of those challenges are going to be combat/predator maps and that is more then the other games had and still is more then there are batmobile ones. Really this game has far more replay value then the other games and has the best story to. The only thing this game is missing is boss fights and we still may get some in SOI.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
I'm not a Batman fan (don't hate it, just not into it) and Arkham Knight was the first one in the franchise that I played through and completed. 96% overall. Not even being a Batman fan, I was very disappointed with the game. The entire game revolves around the Batmobile which was a huge mistake in my opinion followed by the constant tank fighting in the Batmobile.
Some stuff like having to use the grappling hook to raise up the roof of a building in order to then use it as a ramp was awesome and greatly implemented but after a while, what should have been standout moments became repetitive, tedious and boring.
Non-existent boss fights, a severe underuse of Scarecrow and all the other villains was sad and seeing you know who throughout the game made sense story wise but to me, it was a total cop out. Rocksteady made an excellent game in Asylum and 2011 game of the year in City but completely screwed up Knight and considering that it's the finale in the Rocksteady trilogy, the series went out on a whimper.
Overall, an 8/10 for me personally but quite honestly should have been a 9.5/10 if it was done right (it wasn't) and a game of the year contender. Thus far, two franchises that as of right now are done (the other being MGSV) have been disappointments in my opinion.Comment

The previous games didn't really need DLC because everything came packed in to increase the games' longevity and replayability. You weren't forced to buy additional challenges, maps, and characters because all that was already included and unlocked.
My problem with the packed-in Arkham Knight challenges was outside of one or two none of them had any replayability. You beat them and moved on. Only one or two had any score-type measure that I would ever try to beat repeatedly like with Origins or City. Not to mention a cast of characters that were essentially background props until people complained enough for them to patch in the ability to use them in the challenges. Even then you won't be able to use them in free-roam for some lame, lazy reason.
For better or worse the Batmobile never really felt as organic or natural to the game like all the other elements did. Batman's combat system is wonderful with its fluidity and rhythm, but the Bat-Tank segments felt overly-simplistic and underdeveloped. Hell, they even copy and pasted some sections throughout the game. It just felt like a feature they could market and say, "hey, look, you can drive the Batmobile."
If you prefer this game over the rest of the series then that's wonderful, but I completely disagree and it is my least favorite. For me Origins is more engaging in both its story and gameplay, but then even Arkham City's disjointed story is better to me. The side missions turned into copy & paste missions. After you completed the first one it basically turned into "do this again 5 times for the final, dull villain confrontation." There was so much potential with what they had in the game, but it never came to a satisfying conclusion. It all felt thrown together like left-over ideas they had from the previous games that they never took the time to flesh out and develop.
I'm sorry, but this game felt like a total and complete cash-grab. The hype of the Batmobile, the full cast of characters, and the massively overpriced season pass. There's an under-the-surface animosity for this game and I think its warranted.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
Hands down one of the worst season passes offered - companies need to take notes from The Witcher & Borderlands (and some other games) on how a season pass should be handled.
I mean, The Witcher is throwing an additional 30+ hours of STORY content for $24.99!
Batman wants $40 for skins and race tracks.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
Ironic I saw this thread pop up, and then I saw this:

Perhaps the most interesting, though, are the all new story missions. Catwoman’s Revenge will come next month along with a Robin-themed mission titled, A Flip of the Coin. The names should give away the plot of each story for those who have played Batman: Arkham Knight even just a little.
Catwoman will be going through a gauntlet of challenges to infiltrate Riddler’s headquarters and get back at the trickster. Meanwhile, Robin will be going head-to-head with Two-Face as he deals with the consequences from the ending of Arkham Knight.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
If the Nightwing GCPD thing is any indication. They'll all be disappointing. I mean, the "best" was the Batgirl DLC. And it wasn't all that long or interesting.
I bought the season pass. I wish I hadn't. I could've watched someone do it on a Let's Play and not missed out.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
Season passes should always be a wait and see because you simply don't know what you're going to get in it. Majority of the time, it's average at best. I was tempted to buy the AC Syndicate Gold Edition because of the season pass content including a Jack the Ripper DLC story that takes place 20 years after Syndicate but I decided against it simply because it's just too outrageous. The cost doesn't reflect the quality.
The best DLC that I have seen and read about is for The Witcher 3. And by FAR too. The quality and the quantity that you get for $25 is amazing. And it's the first expansion thus far. Second one is said to be twice as long.
Back to Batman's DLC, for those who don't know, all of the DLC is being developed by WB Montreal. Rocksteady has nothing to do with any of the post-game content.Comment
