So, consensus is the game rebounded nicely after the patch and is good for a relatively stress free playthrough? As stress free as a Ubi game can be?

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Unity is good but not great. Controls are very aggravating and frustrating. I enjoyed Rogue a lot more and think that it's the better game. With that said, both are on sale for $20 at Best Buy through Saturday.Comment

I LOVE Rogue and would be shocked if Unity was better.
Thanks for the sale heads up.

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
The initial mess that it was when it released turned me off to it a bit. But when I went back I still didn't enjoy it. I don't know if it was just me being bored with the same old AC gameplay or the story. The story just isn't interesting to me.
I really liked AC2 and black flag though. Just more compelling stories.

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
I actually bought it today for $16 (im in gamers club unlocked) even though I finished the game in January. Now, I can play Dead Kings DLC and complete all the side quests. I figure for $16, it's something to play until Batman and the patch gets released for The Witcher 3. Based on completing the story campaign and the side stuff I did do, I would rate Unity an 8/10. Good game but should have been better. The controls and free running is worse than what it was in Black Flag/Rogue. Hopefully, AC Syndicate learns from those mistakes but if I had to guess, I doubt that it will.
As for Rogue, I loved it as well, rated it an 9.5/10 as it was easily my 2014 game of the year. I loved Black Flag but enjoyed Rogue more because while shorter, the story was better, you could play the naval campaign off-line and there was no "eavesdropping" missions whatsoever in the entire game where as Black Flag had too many of them.Comment

I agree for the most part. I enjoyed the game, story but it was mainly the controls and free running that were so damn frustrating which in turn makes you aggravated. They should have kept them the same as Black Flag/Rogue and just add in a crouch button. The initial mess that it was when it released turned me off to it a bit. But when I went back I still didn't enjoy it. I don't know if it was just me being bored with the same old AC gameplay or the story. The story just isn't interesting to me.

If you enjoyed Black Flag, you should try Rogue as it's better in my opinion. ACII is arguably the series best but after playing Black Flag, I couldn't get into it at all. Made it about 1/3rd through the story and that was it.
I realize that I can't go back and play past/older games in a series. Same with Far Cry. Started with FC3. No way can I play the three previous games.Comment

8.0
pretty good score.
what do you think is the biggest plus and biggest minus of Unity?Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
Yes and make sure that you don't start it at all because if you do, you'll be forced to complete the first mission. You can't quit, exit out or anything. Even re-loading and going to the PS4 XMB doesn't work. I made that mistake. Thankfully, I was only a few sequences in the story so I didn't get that mad or anything.Comment

I am happy I picked this up. The lighting is beautiful. The different fighting style is fun. I like how you decided when to parry or dodge. The dirt that falls when you climb. The free run up or down is very nice instead of it being automatic. The visuals and character movement is great.Comment

Re: Assasins Creed Unity
So I just beat this game and overall I will say that I enjoyed it. Visually the game looks great especially during the daytime and and I enjoyed the gameplay. I like that they made the combat more tougher because I actually had to improve my weapons as I went along and I also tried different weapons although I preferred one-handed swords LOL.
I enjoyed the Love Story intertwined with the main plot and I enjoyed the story overall but the end was kind of whatever. I enjoyed the co-op missions even though I was playing them by myself although I wish I could have played them with some people and I would have liked them even more.
my favorite side mission was the murder mysteries and I beat all of them. I just purchased Syndicate and I hope they have that in there too. I did about half of the Paris stories and I didn't touch the Nostradamus enigmas stuff LOL. I beat the dead King's DLC as well and that was okay. I like the addition of the guillotine gun & running around in the catacombs underneath the city was kind of cool too but the story wasn't anything special and I wanted to whoop that little boy's *** LOL.
I really wanted to go through all the co-op missions and heists but some of them are just too damn hard by yourself and I need to delete this game off my hard drive to add anything else and I just purchased GTA 5 LOL.
So overall I give this game about 8.0 out of 10. I easily got like 50 hours of gameplay for $10

I haven't played this game in a couple years, but the co-op missions and Heists were alot of fun.
