Will the prices of games ever come down?
Topic. $50 is a lot to pay for one game. There is no place like Nebraska
Dear old Nebraska U.
Where the girls are the fairest,
The boys are the squarest,
Of any old school that I knew.
There is no place like Nebraska,
Where they're all true blue.
We'll all stick together,
In all kinds of weather,
For Dear old Nebraska U!
Won't change this signature until Nebraska wins the National Championship...posted 8/16/05Tags: None -
Re: Will the prices of games ever come down?
I doubt it. Some games dropped to $40 this year (ESPN baseball for example), but I think that since the market for gamers is so big and companies know they'll get sales at $40-$50, they might not drop the price below that. -

Re: Will the prices of games ever come down?
One of the things I am liking about XBox is that a lot of it's really good (and recent) games have already dropped to $29.99.
Project Gotham 2, Crimson Skies, Morrowind, and others are only a few months old are are already reasonably priced..Comment

Re: Will the prices of games ever come down?
I think software will stay at the 40-50 dollar price point, but the consoles themselves wil get much cheaper to own in the future. These companies (mostly Sony and MS) don't make much off of the hardware and in MS' case actually lose money. Getting a userbase installed is their #1 priority.Favorite Sports Teams
NFL - Carolina Panthers
NBA - Charlotte Hornets
MLB - Cincinnati Reds
College Basketball - Wake Forest
NCAA Football - Appalachian StateComment

I'm sure they'll go down, little by little. I'm talking very little at a time. I've seen some N64 and PSX games for around $30 still!
