I'm sure they'll go down, little by little. I'm talking very little at a time. I've seen some N64 and PSX games for around $30 still!

Re: Will the prices of games ever come down?

I look at the price of a game in terms of hours of entertainment per dollar. For example, say you go the movies and take your wife or girlfriend, whatever, you buy two cokes and a popcorn. That will cost around $20 for 2 hours of entertainment. So in that scenario you're looking at about $10/hour of entertainment. If you spend $50 on a video game, using the movie scenario that is about 5 hours of entertainment. The question is how many hours does a game usually entertain you? Well, if you look at a game such as NCAA 2004 where you play over 100 games or Morrowind, you probably spend about 70-80 hours playing the game. I think spending only $50 is justified. Take your wife or girlfriend out to dinner, you spend over $30 for one hour. I think you all can see what I'm getting at. The prices of games really aren't that bad considering the amount of entertainment you get from them.

Game prices will always stay the same forever. I remember NES games being 50 bucks, I remember Genesis and SNES games being 50 bucks. I remember PS1 games being 50 bucks and for some titles, the prices almost never goes below the 50 buck price range. I remember Virtual Racing for the Genesis being 80 bucks, the highest priced game of that time.

We're actually lucky nowadays as places like Funcoland, EB and Gamestop offer low prices on used games and they're always having diffrent types of sales and promotions on new games so we're actually lucky we have what we have. Back then, if you wanted a game thats been out for over 2 years, you'll still end up paying 50 for it. Now those video game storse will get it to you at a 20 and under range. And some titles price goes down only after a few months. Plus there has been quite a few titles that have been released at 30 bucks and 40 bucks recently. I'm not really complaining.
